"We're staying here?!" I sputtered in disbelief.
"Penthouse suite—75,000 dollars," Sang boasted happily, grinning from ear to ear as I gaped up at the hotel's grand entrance.
"75,000 for the week?!" I gasped.
"No, per night," Jae chuckled. "What were you expecting, Motel 6?" he asked, the other boys laughing when he translated the situation to them. Even Chung-Ae cracked a smile behind his glass of whiskey. Great, day zero and I'm already a joke to them because I'm broke as—
A woman in uniform opened the limo door for us, standing tall beside it and waiting patiently for everyone to step out. Jae and Sang were the first two to take their leave, still cackling loudly over their overrated joke. Joonie was next, almost tripping when he got out since he couldn't bother to look away from his phone for even a split second. I stood up to follow the crowd.
Myung shouldered his way past me almost immediately, and I felt the crushing blow of his fist connect with my stomach as he passed by. I collapsed back into the seat with an audible grunt, watching Chung-Ae grin in satisfaction. He got off next, joining Myung outside under the hotel awning. The latter flipped me off and laughed, wrapping an arm around his friend's shoulders and taking a sip of Chung-Ae's drink.
Eww.
Without warning, a hand stretched out in front of me. Sunni loomed over me expectantly, emerald-contacted eyes fixated on my natural dark brown ones. The emotion on his face was something unfamiliar, yet daunting. I took his hand without even thinking, swallowing nervously when he pulled me back up onto my feet.
It's scary being in the presence of a celebrity, but it's downright terrifying holding their hand and not knowing what on Earth is going through their head. Especially when they're less than a foot away, and you're pretty sure they can hear every word that you're thinking.
Dropping my hand, Sunni abandoned me on the limo, wandering off to round up his group in the hotel lobby. I quickly followed suit, pausing by the rear of the idols. The hotel was even more grand and immaculate inside than it was outside, and honestly, I wish this was for more than just a week.
Black and white stripes zig-zagged across the glossy floor of the lobby, modern chandeliers dripping from the ceilings in elegant fashion. It's almost like you can see the dollar signs put into this place.
The seven of us hastily crowded into the elevator, where I was once again left shoved in the back corner like the stowaway no one wanted. Normally I would've been annoyed, but the lack of sleep had started to take its toll, the heaviness of my eyelids sapping what little energy I had left. Only the sudden, sharp ding announcing our arrival at the suite was enough to shock me back to reality, the weariness swiftly replaced with marvel as the doors slid open.
The penthouse suite was more massive than I can even describe. Moonlight filtered in through the skylights lining the high, vaulted ceiling of the living room, illuminating the largest sofa I'd ever witnessed. A cozy fire popped and crackled its greeting nearby, the plasma screen tv hanging above the mantel bigger than any I've owned in my life. The place was a modern mansion with its own library and banquet hall, as well as five luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms. What's not to love?
If I ever get rich like these guys, I'm staying here forever. End of story.
As for this week, I got my own room! Karma came back to bite Chung-Ae where it hurts, and he was forced to share a room with Sang upon Sunni's orders. Myung, on the other hand, was allowed to keep his room since he already shared it with Min-Soo. That just left Joonie and Jae sharing a room and Sunni on his own like me.
I retreated rather quickly to my bedroom once Chung-Ae had moved out all of his things, locking the door behind me and charging towards the California king-sized bed. Forget pajamas, I know exactly how I'm sleeping tonight...
