Anatomy
Alphas: Male Alphas have penises. Females Alphas are intersex, both a penis and vaginal opening are present. Either sex naturally have larger fangs.
Betas: Can have penis or vagina. (Very small percentage of Betas are intersex). Either sex have fangs, though they are usually duller than Omegas.
Omegas: Males Omegas are intersex, both penis and vaginal opening are present. Female Omegas have vaginas. Either sex have fangs, though they aren’t as big as Alphas.
The main difference between the three ranks are the hormones present. Alphas have elevated levels of Alpherone, which aids them in physical prowess and aggressive tendencies. Omegas have elevated levels of Omegagen, which aids their parental instincts and caring natures. Betas are unique in that they have both Alpherone and Omegagen hormones present but lack either heats or ruts.
Presentation
In the past, presentation began at the first heat or rut, or lack thereof. However, technological development allows for hormone tests can be done at around 12-13 to determine secondary sex now. This was how Robbie knew that he was an Omega despite having not gone into heat yet in TRK.
Pronouns
Gender expression is very fluid in this universe, and primary sex generally holds very little meaning in most cases. That being said, Alphas generally choose he/him pronouns, while Omegas generally choose she/her pronouns. This isn’t a rule so much as it’s just the norm. Betas with penises often choose he/him and Betas with vaginas often choose she/her
Titles we deem “Masculine” in our world (Father/Uncle/Mister/King) are just Alphan terms in theirs.
Titles we deem “Feminine” in our world (Mother/Aunt/Missus/Queen) are just Omegan in theirs.
Example: Vincent calling Aiden (a male Omega that uses he/him pronouns) mother because he’s an Omega in TRK.
Scott preferring to call himself a King as opposed to a Lunos/Queen is to strengthen his persona.
(Author’s note: I feel like this part is a little confusing, don’t be afraid to ask questions!)
World
Pretty modern in terms of advancements, technology, medicine, and all of that. It parallels our own. The only difference is nation names (None of our countries exist and almost every existing nation is under a monarchy) and culture.
Population
85% of the world population are Betas (42.5% males and 42.5% females)
8% of the world population are Alphas (6.25% males and 1.75% females)
7% of the world population are Omegas (1.25% males and 5.75% females)
The worlds population mirrors our own, meaning there are roughly 8 billion humans worldwide.
High class/the richest people are almost entirely made up of Alphas and Omegas. High class Betas exist, obviously, but it is not the norm.
Work
Betas: They are the backbone of the economy. Think normal people. When a lot of the USA was shut down because of COVID-19, the economy took a nosedive and a lot of big businesses had to close stores completely. Betas are basically the equivalent of lower class of America. They are the only reason why the world is spinning on its axis and they aren’t even getting credit for it. Bless their hearts.
Alphas: Natural leaders, so they make up a lot of the white-collar workers. They’re in the higher ups of most industries and are almost always some sort of rich. On the flip side of that, lower socioeconomic Alphas make up a lot of work forces that require brute strength. In the beginning of TRK, it’s mentioned that the steel/mining industry is at a standstill with the Alpha riots, which would be those lower-class Alphas. A majority of organized crime (with prostitution being the exception- that’s Omega dominant) is also committed by Alphas.
Omegas: It is a point of pride (for both Alphas and Omegas) for Omegas to be provided for. House Omegas are quite common, and although most high-class Omegas have multiple degrees, it’s sort of faux pas for Omegas to actually need to use them. The exception for this are jobs of high prestige (Scott being a King, for example). Some low-class Omegas work (Robbie worked at a library to avoid an arranged mating), but for the most part, Omegas are born into rich families, so they are generally provided for until they find a suitable mate(s).
In most cultures, Betas are worker bees to Alphas and Omegas, but Alphas are worker bees to their Omegas. It’s believed that Omegas shouldn’t have to work, which is one of the reasons why Scott is so disrespected in TRK. Omegas are encouraged to appear weak and demure because it gives Alphas the illusion of strength. So, it’s taboo for an Omega to present themselves as independent and promiscuous because they have no need to when they have Alphas lining at their feet. It’s a point of pride for Alphas to represent the mating in social settings, present as head of the household because they’re supposed to automatically know what’s best for their mating without having to consult their mates. An Omega who’s making decisions for themselves and their mates makes the Alpha seem weak and incapable.
