When I woke up I thought about not getting out of bed because the warmth of Matthew was very comforting and I didn't wanna wake him up. when he started to move I slowly got up and went downstairs to only be met by his mom with a very puzzled look on her face. She asked me what I was doing and I said "I fell asleep while watching a movie with Matthew". She said ok and asked if I wanted something to eat. after about 30 minutes Matthew came downstairs and joined us. After we ate our breakfast we went to the back yard and played some tennis after a while I gave up bc I got tired. I asked if he wanted to come over to my house for lunch since my parents weren't home he said yeah so we went to my house. While I was cooking us lunch he said "I didn't mean for the car ride to be so awkward yesterday" I said it was ok. He said, "Can I tell you something related to yesterday?" I asked, "What's up?" he said "The reason I came out to you... is... I like you..." I didn't say anything for a few seconds he said "Please say something" in a shaky voice. I said "I think I like you too" he froze up and just sat in the chair for about two minutes while I kept cooking. He finally said something "Do you want to... go on like a date?" I said, "I wouldn't mind when would you like to go?" he said tomorrow is good. After that, we ate lunch and talked about our plans for the rest of the summer. After he left I kinda felt sad I liked hanging out with him. When the night finally came when I was getting ready for bed I got a text from Matthew saying "I can't wait for tomorrow" with a little heart emoji next to it. When I woke up it was already 11 am. I got up very quickly and got dressed and checked my phone and seen Mathew had texted me saying that we were gonna leave at noon instead of this afternoon. I checked the time on my phone and realized it was 11:45 I got my shoes on and rushed to the bathroom brushed my teeth and said goodbye to my cat Burt. As I was about to leave for the door I head someone knock and ran to the door to see Matthew with a tiny envelope that said "For Louis". He said "You look like you just woke up" and chucked. I said, "I just did are you ready?" he nodded and we went to my car and got in. When I started the car the music I was playing yesterday blared out of the speakers scaring the hell out of both of us. While we were driving to the park he put on some music and he started to bellow out the songs and I thought it was very cute even tho he isn't too good at singing. When we finally got to the park it was closed so we had to find a plan b. We decided we would go get food. We went to Whataburger and this was the first date I have ever been on it I may not have shown it but I was so nervous. When we got done eating it was about 1 pm so we decided to keep the date going so we went downtown it was about a thirty-minute drive that turned into an hour and a half because of traffic. So while we were stuck there we talked about where he was from because we had never really talked about it. He told me about how he used to go swimming all the time and I asked if he had been to Galveston yet. He said no so I took the I-45 exit to Galveston to show him the beach here. When we got there he had a look of disgust on his face. I asked him what was wrong? he said, "Why is the water brown?" he said, "The water back home was blue and clear". I was shocked by this because I was used to the dirty water of the Gulf. I finally convinced him to get in the water and he was enjoying it from the look on his face. We watched the sunset and we got back into the car. When we got back he gave me the envelope and said not to open it until I got inside. After that, he leaned in and gave me a kiss.
