The Turnover

第五章: Tease Part Two

第五章: Tease Part Two

Aug 10, 2020

"But I like to stay inside my house," I finally whine.

"Aw, come on. I'll pay then. Will that persuade you to come with me?"

I turn my head to look at him again. "No." I try not to seem like I want to smile, but I can't. We both break into laughter. "I'm actually really hungry too and I thought that you just had some quick questions today so I didn't bring anything for the afternoon either."

"Guess we're on the same page for once. Come on, let's go. I'm starving," he complains as he starts packing up.

"But you didn't finish this problem," I tease as I pretend to look disappointed.

"You're seriously not going to make me do that, are you?"

I shrug nonchalantly. "I mean, I am your tutor after all. So I can technically tell you what to do."

"You wouldn't tell me to do it," he says confidently as he crosses his arms in front of his chest while studying me.

I raise both of my eyebrows for a second as I organize my papers into my binder. "Who told you that?"

"I did."

"Well, you're wrong because I'm giving you another problem." I start to grab a pencil from my pencil box, but before I can even do it, Will snatches it away from me and holds it high enough above his head in which I can't grab it. I stand up as he does this. "Give it back." I try to jump for it but he's way too tall and I'm too short.

He starts laughing as he continues to tease me because of my short stature. "Not unless you promise me that you won't give me another problem to work on and we can go to eat. And that means you have to come with me," he says as his green eyes twinkle with amusement.

"You're being unfair now." I continue to jump for it, but this time, I pull his right arm down to try and grab it, but I forgot how strong he was. He immediately switches hands with my pencil case and now, it's in his left hand and I groan. "Please give it back," I pout as I try to give him my cutest puppy dog face.

He hesitates a little before realizing that it's a trap. "Not until you promise me those things."

I groan some more. "Are all guys like this? Do they make fun of shorter girls for their height and use it to their advantage?" I cross my arms in front of my chest.

"Maybe. Maybe not." He shrugs. "Now, are you going to take the deal or not?"

"Fine. Fine. I promise that I won't give you another problem and I will go out with you to eat," I finally say as I sit in my chair again, feeling defeated.

"And what happens if you break my promise?"

I contort my lips to the side in contemplation. "Good question. I'm actually not sure. Do you have anything in mind?" I ask as I lift my gaze.

"I do have a couple of things in mind." He gives me a sinister smile.

"I probably shouldn't have asked that question. Now, I am regretting it."

He snorts. "Sounds like a personal problem."

"Ok, whatever. What do you have in mind?"

"If you break your promise, then you have to come and help me practice basketball on the weekends starting from the weekend that you broke your promise on."

I instantly gulp as I hear this. "W-Why? I barely know how to play. You can ask your teammates and whatnot. They're probably more suited for helping you than me."

"Eh, they get annoying sometimes by trying to seem like they're some future NBA All-Star player. I'd rather have you be there than them. And plus, your company hasn't been so bad for these past weeks. I actually enjoyed it," Will explains as he grins at me.

"Y-You have? I just thought that I was yelling at you too much for having the small brain that you have."

"Trust me. Your yelling is nothing compared to my coach or my parents. So you're fine. Don't worry. My feelings don't get hurt that easily." He winks at me as he hands me back my pencil case. "So deal?"

"Of course it's a deal. I won't break that promise, ever. You can trust me on that."

"Don't get too cocky, Ash. You know what happens when people get too cocky."

"Whatever you say, Genius."
