Maxime P.O.V

I was looking at the guest trying my food and I felt a smile creeping its way on my face as I saw their faces of pure bliss. It was really rare for me to smile, I normally had difficulty to show my emotions, so smiling was something I did only on big occasions. This, right there, was one of those extremely rare moments and I could feel my cheeks hurting due to the fact that those muscles were rarely ever used. If it was not for eating, then I would have problems opening my mouth because I didn't like neither talking nor smiling. Even if I was currently smiling, I felt like I just looked like a creepy clown telling some children to come in my car to have a dog shaped balloon. I shuddered at the thought and the smile that was on my face flattered and disappeared as if it never was there. Like I said, my facial expressions were rare and ephemeral.

I focused back on the buffet and saw a small boy with black hair and blue eyes coming toward it. He had really pale skin and looked too skinny to be in healthy shape. My eyebrows furrowed as I saw his anxious stance and the way he jumped every time someone came near him. I was experienced in the abusive tendencies and the way the victim acts; I could tell that something bad happened to him and that it had been that way for a very long time. I couldn't recognize him, so he wasn't in our pack. It only meant one thing, there was another pack abusing their members. I would have to talk with Alexander about it, because I couldn't stand the thoughts that people were getting hurt. I would never forgive myself if something bad happened while I could have stop it.

I was getting ready to go look for Alex but saw him approaching the little guy like a hunter do with his prey. I immediately understood that he was his mate when I saw him taking sniff multiple times. At least the poor boy would have a good mate, he deserved it after everything he went through. Not that I knew his story, I could just tell. Maybe a week ago I would have pitied the omega for getting an Alpha as his mate but now I knew that Alex was a really good man and that he would take good care of him.

I raised a brow as the young bow fainted and watched with amusement as the big Alpha showed a look of terror and worry. He was totally panicking, and I was totally enjoying it. I could tell that the omega fainted because of fright but Alex didn't know that. He took him in his arms and ran out of the ballroom. I guessed he was going to bring his mate to the room upstairs. I could tell that it was going to be hard for the big Alpha to make the small omega fall in love with him, but I knew that he wouldn't do anything to him unless he wanted to. Alex was going to do his best; I was a little proud of him. As if I was his mother, what a weird and creepy feeling.

I decided that I had enough of socializing. Even though I hadn't talk to anyone, I was still feeling weird being in the same room as this many people. It was nerve wracking and I didn't like that, not one bit. I was also afraid that someone would try to talk to me, I could already feel the gazes of some people. I had to say that I could feel some that were lustful and that brought shivers of disgust all the way up my spine.

I retreated to my room and saw a flash of ginger hairs enter the room while I was exiting it. What a beautiful colour, I wished I could have met the person who got those gorgeous hair, but I really wanted to get out right now.

I guess it would have to wait for another day. I hoped it would be soon through.
