Tyura stared at the ugly little insect with one eye closed. It had two wiggling antennae, six tiny legs, and two beady black eyes.
Tyura sought crossed legged on the ground and dusted his hands off.
Just as he expected. It was an ant. An ant without even a trace of energy.
In his world, even the bugs had some type of energy coming from then. Either neutral, demonic, or holy. But here there was nothing.
This must be some primitive world,Tyura thought with a sigh.
"What do you want me to do here? Civilize the cavemen?" Tyura said loudly. He had gotten into the habit of talking out loud. He felt that the voice could hear him somehow. And it helped him keep his sanity.
Tyura popped a berry in his mouth and chewed slowly. It's been three days since he found the berry bushes. He was still hungry, but he wasn't about to die at least. As for his injuries well, with the amount of nutrients he was getting, they would take a while to heal completely. Luckily, after he went back to inspect his house more closely, he had found a tattered curtain he could use. He had been blessed with many skills when he was born, but making and designing clothes was not one of them. So he just tore holes in the curtain for his arms and legs and wrapped the rest around his body. That combined with his Wolf-Lion fur and he had a whole outfit. Sort of.
Well, the cuts on his body are no longer exposed and that was the main concern. Now he just had to worry about his foot. The cut there was deeper. But it didn't hurt as much as before so that was a good sign.
The bush near by rustled slightly. Tyura made a face and popped another berry into his mouth.
There was also those 'things' that made him fall down the hill before. Three squirrels peaked their heads out and looked at him. After falling down that hill, Tyura didn't immediately go back up and it wasn't like he had the energy to move anyway. Instead he shoved hand fulls of berries in his mouth from the bush he had landed in. That was when he had first noticed the squirrels.
Tyura scratched his foot absentmindedly and stared back at them.
"What do you want?" He asked. Of course he knew they couldn't respond. Instead one of them hopped a little closer to him and eyed the berries in his lap. Tyura glanced down at them too before raising his eyebrow.
"There are many berry bushes here. Go find one."
There only response was a nose twitch. Tyura scoffed and tossed a berry in their direction. It was a pitiful throw and it barely came close to them even though they were only six feet away, still, the squirrels scurried back into the bush.
Tyura smirked in satisfaction. He thought they were cute like his little Misky. She was much more brave though. His smile dropped. Tyura didn't have people who he could call friends back in his world. He really didn't see a need for them anyway. They all seemed to be afraid of him. A child blessed by God with unlimited power. But he did have Misky.
Tyura looked up towards the bush and saw that the berry he threw was already gone. He grabbed a few more berries and held out his hand.
''Hey, You can have these too." A few seconds went by and the same squirrel as before jumped out. Tyura recognized him as the leader since the others followed him. He also stood out with his bushy red tail.
Tyura smiled at him and shook the berries in his hands.
The squirrel hesitated and then took a few steps forward. The other two squirrels looked on from the bushes, ready to flee if things got dangerous. One step and then another and finally the squirrels was close enough to sniff my hand. Tyura slowly reached his other hand over to touch the squirrels small head.
Crack!
Tyura flinched and looked up with wide eyes as a sound like the sky was splitting open, reverberated around the forest. Following it came the rumble of thunder. Tyura stood up slowly still searching the sky. The sky that was bright and sunny just a moment ago was now covered in dark clouds.
Rain? It hadn't rained since he got to this world. Oh he really hoped it was rain.
Tyura closed his eyes and felt something wet drop onto his head. He looked up and a few more drops fell on his face until it became a steady drizzle. He laughed and tilted his head back. He opened his mouth and let the rain run down his dry throat. He never thought drank rainwater before. He never would have thought it could be so sweet.
After he had his fill, he rubbed the water over his hands and then his face, removing the built-up grime. He sighed feeling refreshed as he just let the rain fall over him. Soon, the rain went from a drizzle to an all out pour.
Tyura lifted his foot as he felt something squishy in between his toes. The soft dirt under his feet was quickly turning into mud.
And so was the hill that he had to climb to get to his house. It was becoming more like a mud slide. Tyura rushed towards it without thinking. The squirrels were long gone, but he didn't have time to think about them anyway. If he didn't get up the hill, he would be stranded at the bottom and washed away.
Tyura dug his hands into the mud on the hill. It had only been raining for a few seconds but it was already this wet. He shivered as the rain and mud rose up to his ankles.
He didn't waste time and began clawing and digging his way up the hill. At some point mud got into his mouth, choking him and he nearly slipped back down the hill. When he finally reached the top the flopped to the side gasping for breath. He could only lay there for a second. The rain showed no signs of letting up, so he had to reach his house.
Luckily, his house wasn't far from the hill and after a few minutes of walking he saw the now familiar splintered wooden house. Tyura sighed lightly and the house groaned lightly as if greeting him.
And then it collapsed. Mud, rain, and wood sprayed in all directions.
Tyura slowly lowered his arm which he had used to shield, and looked a the now collapsed house. It couldn't even be called a house now.
It was gone. It was nothing.
Tyura leaning against a nearby tree and glanced up towards the sky. The rained seemed like it had gotten heavier.
"Now what?"
