On the other side of the area, where the oasis Rammah had won was, he sat with his two older brothers around a fire. They added kindle to the fire, and then inspected the place of his injury.
Otba noticed that, so he asked him, “how are you now?”
“Much better. My injury is not deep, and we have always been used to these injuries.”
“Until now, I could not believe what I heard about that brave stance, which appeared from the knight Mohab.”
His middle brother Saif replied, “there is no reason to express that exaggerated admiration I can assure that he hides another intention.”
Rammah interfered, “stop this suspicion. Don’t you see how he confronted valiantly to Shaddad? And yet he did not ask us, not even a date!”
Saif smiled, “do not forget that his duel for Shaddad was not for us but because of their differences!”
Otba hit his forehead. “How did I miss that! Their dispute that happened months ago because–“
Rammah interrupted him, “whatever it is, let us be grateful for it.”
Saif noted it, saying, “or do you aspire to have a friendship with him, Rammah?”
“Who said that? Of course that is impossible!”
The brothers, on the right Rammah and Otba, in the centre and Saif on the left, discussed.
Rammah left his council and entered his father's tent, while Saif looking to Otba saying, “Rammah is thinking of befriending Mohab. I can assure that he will do that for something in himself, as he does not take any step without studying it.”
Otba completed the thought, “and without destroying everyone who stands in his way! I will not forget the day when my father decided to withdraw the mandate of the covenant from me, and hand it over to Rammah.”
Saif threw some twigs on the fire to add more flames.
“He went beyond the laws of all tribes and deviated from our tradition that the eldest son takes over the rule of the covenant, and he cunningly withdrew it from you.”
Otba meet this dialogue with long silence
