In the tent of the Bani Al-Badr tribe Safwan listened to his son and Attaris with the story of the fortified oasis. After they finished their words, he wiped over his long beard and spoke.
“So, this oasis will solve all our problems and concerns by searching for food and striving to survive! And nothing prevents us from it except the masked one. There is no doubt that he is from the jinn. That our armed soldiers could not kill him, it is a jinn.”
Shaddad asked, “what is your plan, Dad?”
Safwan turned to Attaris, ignoring his son's question.
“What is your opinion? Sending more soldiers to kill him?”
He waited a while before answering, “I'm afraid of draining our energy sir. Especially since our supplies are running out, and we are saving our soldiers for war with another tribe if we win an oasis instead of the one we lost today. But I do have an idea.”
Safwan got excited, “say it.”
Attaris put his hands behind his back and walked slowly.
“An oasis like this would spoil the saliva of both Bani shams and Bani Al-Najm if they come across it, and I am certain that they will fight the masked one with their best men to win it. What do you think to the idea that we watch their war with him? If they win, we fight them, and this makes it easier for us too if we plan it well. But if they lost in front of him, we do not lose our men.”
Shaddad responded, “your idea is great, commander. But how will we do that?”
Attaris smiled and began to recount his plan.
