Musings on the Past, Before Hannah- From a book of collected information scraps, a hidden treasure of Tina's
Hannah's lands are roughly 54,500 mi². This seems like a lot of space. Over two weeks of walking would not get you from one end to the other, considering the Prize Monsters, hazards, and rough terrain. Yet it is a fraction of a fraction of the world that used to exist.
From the start Hannah was unable to survey and control her whole world. The more alterations she made, the more the world rebelled. So she changed the world, and locked away almost the entirety of the population in the Black Towers. The small part she maintained was enough, and in time she let herself "forget" what once was.
Those lost continents? Sunken. Pushed down below the sea. Or perhaps the Sea and her small kingdom were raised. In terms of human death, at least direct death, Hannah managed an almost bloodless takeover. In terms of culture, history, nature, and biodiversity- it was a desecration unlike anything seen before.
Yet I believe much that was lost is waiting just a bit below the waters. Unlivable perhaps, but a treasure trove of what was, and what could still be.
But the anger I feel when I think of what was denied humanity- it is a rage that will burn the heavens.

I really like the description because it shows how Hannah was struggling to control even just a tiny part of the world.
She had to essentially treat her people like they were in an ant tank. Making sure that everything was in order in a confined space but still calling it a "perfect world".
