Devyn was panting by the time he was finished, sweat drenching the front of his shirt and hair. His head was light, his body felt like Jell-O as he walked to the rack to put his katana away. His master bowed at him once he was finished, and Devyn returned the gesture even though his body protested at the act. He huffed as he turned to walk out the door and meet up with Pandora.
She smiled at him as she pulled the lollipop from her mouth and jogged up to him, her hair bouncing as she did so. "Ready to get something to eat? I'm starving!"
Devyn grinned as he started walking down the hallway with her. "I need to change first. Then we can grab something to eat."
She nodded as they walked in silence, her eyes glowing as she watched people hurry around them. It was still early in the day and servants had a lot to finish before the day was over. If not, they would have to work late.
Once they reached Devyn's room, Pandora waited outside until he could change into something more comfortable. When he was finished, he met her outside. He gestured for her to follow as he led her down the opposite hall and towards the cafeteria. "There's a new restaurant that just opened up in the cafeteria. I went there once without you."
Pandora hummed as she threw her lollipop stick into the trash. Usually she always agreed to try new foods, in fact, she absolutely loved human food or anything that resembled it. Most of the other shops only sold bits of human flesh or demon flesh. Anything that could be devoured.
Once they reached the store, Devyn ordered something that resembled a steak hoagie for the both of them. They sat down by the window. Pandora was the first one to take a bite of her food. "Mmmm, this is so good!"
Devyn smiled as he lifted his up to his mouth. "Isn't it? It's almost like a hoagie. Maybe I can show you sometime."
Pandora nodded as she swallowed. "About that. How are you holding up here? Do you like it?"
Devyn paused in thought. Did he like it here? He hadn't been in the Underworld for more than a few weeks. But it was like he belonged here. He never thought himself as a demon, but he had been the only one that was given a hard time by his superiors when he had first tried to become an Exorcist. Maybe this was why... They knew all a long.
"I-I like it. It's not too boring." Devyn said after a long pause, watching out the window. "I fit in here, somehow."
Pandora nodded as she finished the rest of her dinner in silence. Once they were finished they split up, deciding to call it a day. Devyn was still slightly sore from working out and wanted to go home and rest. No one stopped him on his way there. With a sigh, he unlocked his room and entered. At the door, he untied his shoes and threw them into a corner, not needing them until tomorrow.
The lights were still off, so he didn't bother turning them on as he laid down on his cot. Slowly, he drifted off into a nap.
