As I run I get a creepy feeling as if something bad is going to happen. I slow down to look at my surroundings but there’s nothing around but chairs sofas and patio tables. I hear a loud click and the lights go out, it sounds as if someone literally turned off the lights via a large light switch. I start to walk in fear of running into something. *whisper* “the store is now closed please exit the building” I hear it, grow closer I pick up the pace. I know they’re coming for me.

I’m dazed by a slap on the face, I scramble to get up and start running. They’re coming after me, running faster and faster by the second. I duck behind a table as if it would stop them, I hear beating behind me. Metal and plastic-like material clash, It stops and I hear a thud. Footsteps start coming towards me, I see a light as well dim but still moving at me. “Get up, your safe for now. We need to get moving.” We run.

He takes me to a fort as tall as it is wide it is weak brace it is made of wood and metal from the furniture that is littered in the store. He announces his name as Wade, he is a scavenger for the group of survivors. Every day he goes out to collect materials, but this time his partner died after it turned tonight. He started running back and saved me, then brought me here. As the night turns to the day they put me on scavenging duty, with Wade as a replacement for the friend they lost. We eat and prepare to go. He shows me around the fort, and we go to the weapon room, *cough cough* its a table. “We leave as the noon shift to go find materials, they are always replenished at night on Tuesdays and Thursdays,” I told him I was thrown in here on a Wednesday, and its been a day by the light cycle. “There are 3 hours till noon, get prepared, and meet me at the gate.” Fine, at least there is a point to this place.
