Mrs. Syrren began to write on the interactive whiteboard, as she was doing that a link was sent to everyone tablets which were already on the desks. Benait opened the link, he looked up to see what Mrs. Syrren had written on the board. As his eyes arrived on the board the words 'vampire history' was written there, he looked back down at the tablet and saw that there was a book cover there.
Mrs. Syrren looked at the class with a serious look "I want everyone to read at least 6 pages,'' the class began to whisper about how easy it would be,'' Quiet down I'm asking for 6 because the writing is so small. You have the rest of the school day to read the 6 pages and anyone that doesn't will have to do it as homework."
Everyone swiped on the book cover to open it, as they opened it everyone saw the size of the words. The class became noisy because of the request given by the teacher but Benait began to read the book. He wasn't bothered by the amount of reading he would have to do.
''Quiet everyone,'' Shouted Mrs. Syrren, ''If I was you I would spend more time reading than complaining if you want to finish the 6 pages before the end of the school day.''
Benait looked at one of the pictures in the book, it was a photo of a man with long hair wearing an old victorian suit. The picture brought Benait a sense of nostalgia. Tears began to form in Benait's eyes as he remembered the stories his grandmother would tell him when he was younger before she passed away. The tears began to roll down Benait's face. He wiped them away as fast as he could hoping no one noticed.
Just before Benait wiped away his tears Ash looked over at him to see if he was actually reading, she saw him wipe the tears from his face. She was a bit concerned for him and leaned over. She tapped his shoulder "Are you okay?" Ash asked whispering with a worried look.
"Oh, sorry I'm fine I was just thinking of the past" Benait answered with a smile.
Ash wasn't sure if Benait had faked the smile but she didn't want to pry into his past. She barely knew Benait but she could tell he was the sort of person that hid his true emotions so well that even he didn't know what they were. Ash gave up on worrying about Benait and began to start reading again, she wanted to try and finish the pages given so she didn't have to read it as homework.
Ring Ring. It was the bell. Benait and Ash got up and began head to the lunch hall following the signs placed around. Ash, being the caring person she was, couldn't stop thinking about how Benait was crying. She tried to think of other things but it slipped out.
"Why where you crying earlier?" Ash asked covering her mouth afterward.
Benait was startled at the fact Ash had remembered that he hoped she would have forgotten.
"I was thinking of memories about my dead grandma and how she used to read me stories and show me the pictures. I'm sorry if I worried you" Benait said trying to not let his emotions show.
Ash acknowledged the fact he didn't want to talk about it much and so she changed the subject.
"What page are you on Benait?" Ash asked with curiosity.
"Well...um...I'm on page 3'' Benait said trying not to cause a huge up-raw.
Ash nodded, it didn't register what page he was on until a few seconds past.
"WHAT PAGE!!" Ash shrieked.
Benait covered Ash's mouth with his hands as quickly as he could looking around to see if people heard her.
"Please don't shout like that Ash" Benait whispered.
Ash realized what she had done and blushed, they continued to the lunch hall in silence. They reached the cafeteria and lined up for lunch. Benait got beef curry and Ash got Cheesy pasta, they got a table in the corner of the cafeteria and began to eat while having a casual conversation. Once they both finished their meals they got up and put away their dishes. They then walked back to class in silence because the memory of Ash screaming in the corridor was still fresh.
