I smiled seeing the old place again, the little blue house I spend most of my childhood in. My mother was the cook here before I was even born, and often she would bring me to work work her have me help her cook or just send me to play with the brown children. I rather loved the little house as it became my second home at least until my mother sent me away to school.
My mother still works there form time to time but I mostly went today to... visit an old friend.
I went up the the purple door and knocked waiting a moment looking at the busy farm the little house sat on, just as I head the door open I turned back being in shock a little.
He was taller then I expect him to be, almost as tall as the door. His tall black boots dusted with mud and dirt, his brown pants now tight to his skinny legs, his white button-down a little dirty and slightly discoloured from its age, the sleeves rolled to his elbows, his arms veiny and a little dirty too, his fuzzy blue jumper was gone replaced by a tattered old blue waistcoat that he hasn't done up at all, his face has some rather obvious lines of dirt as he had clearly just been doing something and had wiped his hand on his face his fluffy blonde hair a mop like mess his brown eyes wide as he saw me
"Y/n?" He asked in disbelief
"Simon?" I asked as I looked at him
"Oh my God, it's you it's really you!" He smiled jumping out the door and hugging me tighter then I think I had ever been hugged in my life "umm I missed you so much"
"I missed you too Simon" I smiled hugging my closely
"I mean it, I really did, I missed you so badly, I mean I didn't even get to say goodbye, I never thought I'd see you again" he muttered
"Simon, are you crying?" I laughed
"What no of course not," he said moving away wiping his eyes where he clearly, in fact, was crying.
We sat at the table having some cups of tea
"So how are things?" he asked
"Alright just got home from finishing school, I haven't even found somewhere to live yet," I told her
"Ohh, Did you enjoy your time at school?" he asks
"I enjoyed it alright I guess," I said "I missed you"
"I missed you too" he smiled
"How have things been for you?" I asked
"Uhhh kinda rough I guess after dad died, and everyone kinda went their own ways and all I'm the only one still here," He says "I really thought I'd never see you again y/n" he said Sadly
"I knew I was always going to come back at some point" I smiled
"Honestly... I kinda cried the night you left, I was just so scared when my dad said you'd been sent off to finishing school I thought you would get married off to someone at the end of it all and that I'd never see you again" he explained "and ....I never even got to say goodbye" he says
"Awww Simon" I smiled "I did uhh need to ask you something actually while I'm visiting?' I asked
"Of course y/n anything" he says
"While I'm in town I sort of need something if you could maybe let me stay if possible?' I asked
"Oh of course you can stay here as long as you like, I'll set up the guest room for you' he smiled getting up
"Thank you so much Simon" I smiled kissing his cheek and he blushed even harder Before he headed off to make the room up for me.
