"What is it you sense?" Okar's mate, Okana whispered.
A low growl from Okar silenced her. "That odd sound," he rasped, "if you are silent you will hear it."
Okar
quietly slid forward through the undergrowth.
About fifty paces away, under a
tall tree several small creatures, resembling Humaine children, were gathered
and huddled.
Okar let that scent enter his nostrils again, and instantly he
knew what was ahead of him.
Humaine flesh!
