Luan Helix (he)

Fun Fact: His favorite thing to do is nap, but he doesn't like how it makes him feel lazy
Description: Luan is a genetically modified patient who was created by Helix Life's team. At the facility, he had two 'siblings' named Kane and Kaipo. However, he never really felt any familial bond with them and didn't interact with them often. Due to his altered DNA, Luan has many traits the average human would not. The base of most of his modifications are from large cats and wolves. He has both reproductive organs, a stronger scent or smell, improved eyesight, a heightened immune system, and a slightly different bone structure. It is impossible to tell he isn't human without doing tests. As he has some imbalances within his DNA, he does have some downsides from his modifications. He requires more sleep than the average human, isn't very physically strong, and will experience headaches from chemical imbalances.
Appearance: He has a mix of Asian features, but looks mostly Japanese. He is 5'2 with black hair and dark brown eyes.

Aster Lee Hill

Fun Fact: used to paint his nails a lot when he was younger to stop himself from chewing his nails
Description: Aster's parents died in a car crash when he was two. He spent a year in an orphanage before Shelly adopted him. He was homeschooled because the commute to school was too troublesome. Due to missing the classroom environment, Aster becomes overwhelmed with crowds. However, he also finds people fascinating and loves talking to all the campers.  He is currently developing an online fantasy game and debating whether he should go to college.
Appearance: He is 5'10 with medium brown hair, hazel eyes, and thousands of freckles. He is half Hispanic and half European which shows in his complexion.

Shelly Rose Hill
Sex: female        Gender: cis female (she)
Age: 43                Sexuality: asexual
Key Traits: warm and bright
Fun Fact: she writing is a mixture of print and cursive letters
Description: Shelly grew up going to camp almost every weekend. Her favorite thing has always been nature which led her to become a ranger. She has had several relationships, but never felt emotionally or physically attached to another person. She always knew she wanted a kid and adopted Aster in her twenties. Raising Aster quickly became her greatest joy. Sometimes she worries because Aster doesn't have a father, but knows Aster considers the other rangers as part of the family too.
Appearance: She is 5'6 with natural blond highlights in her brown hair. She has blue eyes, a rosy complexion, and laugh lines.

Mary Anne Smith
Sex: female       Gender: cis female (she)
Age: 25               Sexuality: bisexual (men and non-binary)
Key Traits: patient and cheerful
Fun Fact: she received a job to teach kindergarten that she declined to be a ranger
Description: She has three siblings, one younger and two older. She has always loved kids and worked at a daycare throughout college. She and Evan met while they were freshmen in college and started dating their junior year.
Appearance: She has very pale skin that will burn if she forgets sunscreen. She has light auburn hair and green eyes. She is 5'4

Evan Gareth Smith
Sex: male      Gender: demiman ("he")
Age: 25          Sexuality: straight
Key Traits: loud and sweet
Fun Fact: Evan lost hearing in his left ear which makes it harder for him to orient where sounds come from and he will have trouble listening with loud background noises.
Description: Evan is the only child of a single father. He first went camping as a boy scout and would work at Hazel Pine National Park during his summers while he was in college. He will sometimes scare small children because of his height and muscular figure, but he is still always smiling. He also talks a bit louder than most people. He developed a crush on Mary when they were college sophomores, but didn't get the nerves to confess until he was drunk the next year. Shelly actually proposed to him because he would have postponed it the same way.
Appearance: He is 6'2 and has a dark, dusky complexion with black hair and brown eyes.

Fun Fact: I get cold really easily and use 5 blankets in the summer and as many as I can find in the winter.
Description: I have two siblings and a cat. My cat only likes me and is a little angel even if my family thinks she is evil. My work has been back in person for about two months, but it's still scary because costumers don't have to wear masks and don't make their kids social distance. On a more positive note, I have been having a lot of fun writing Luan's Story and have a couple of ideas I'm excited about for oncoming chapters.
