The storm thundered outside the old, fogged windows, the lights flickering violently as they made an effort to blink back to life.

"Hey, are you there?" She whispered to the darkness, her ears straining to hear something, anything other than the lighting booming beyond the chipped paint walls of this godforsaken house.

"I'm- I'm ok. I'm fine." A sigh of relief swept over her as soon as she heard his voice.

"And you did not consider asking about us?" Another man's voice muttered somewhere in front of her, a quieter, more feminine voice agreeing with him.

"Honestly, no, I didn't," she quipped, a smirk dancing on her currently nonexistent lips. Wait a minute. "I only heard three of you, right?" A moment of silence.

"Yes, I believe only three of us have spoken-"

"And what, pray tell, does that have to do with anything?"

"Because, you idiot, that means there's only four of us in the room."

"So?"

"So, you idiot, there's supposed to be five of us!" Silence again.

"Oh."

And somewhere from within the dark space, the sound of a palm hitting a face echoed.
