I grabbed the wheel and pressed the gas; luckily, the car was parked. Ruby began breathing hard. She showed me how to properly work on the vehicle.
After an hour of practicing in the driveway, it was time for me to hit the road. “The breaks!” “Hit the brakes,” ruby screamed! “That's the gas,” She freaked out. “Slow down!” “You’re too close to that car!” She freaked out, pointing. “That turn was too wide” “stop sign!” I took a deep breath, trying to concentrate, but my blood was boiling. “Ma, get off my back!” Valencia shouted, frustrated. “Okay, this wide one is the break; keep your foot near here, she said, trying my life.” The whole drive I kept hitting the break. Damn it. It was frustrating... “Let's pull over in the parking lot; its empty with a lot of space.” Ruby jumped out of the car. “Wait!” “where are you going? I asked her.
“Follow me, I trust you,” she said. She ran all the way to the other side of the parking lot. And waved her arms for me to come to her. “Oh, crap!” “Nobody is in the car, but Me!” I remained calm; I didn't want to mess up my first car.
I slowly took the car out of the park, lightly hitting the gas. I was going less than 10 mph across the parking lot. I was able to press the brake and come to a complete stop quickly. “Yay,” ruby clapped! The warm feeling in my chest left. I wasn't squeezing the wheel anymore. Ruby disappeared. It was silent... I looked around for her, but I couldn’t see her, I was about to drive off because I was scared. But suddenly there was a tapping noise on my rear window I almost freaked out! However, I knew my doors were locked. I was not scared; I was in an electric vehicle. I looked in the back mirror; it was ruby. What was she doing back there?
“Ruby!” I rolled down my window. She motioned for me to come to her. It was challenging to turn around. So, I assumed that she wanted me to back up. I kept my eyes glued on the rear-view mirror. She kept disappearing; she was in my blind spot. She was close to the car it was giving me anxiety. “Look out your windows!” she yelled
I didn't want to hit mom, but the trust that she had in me kept me going. I turned the wheel and followed her around the parking lot. Gradually picking up speed. We were so happy I parked. I even learned how to do a three-point turn.
The
whole ride ruby kept quizzing me on signs. I learned most of them.
