When Tom arrives home, his flat-mate James sees him pull up outside, and he opens the front door to greet him. He saw the bed on top of the van and was astonished.

He inquired, "How much did that set you back?"

To which Tom replied, "$15."

"You're joking," says James in amazement. As he aids Tom in bringing the bed into their flat. While moving the bed upstairs into Tom's bedroom. He explains to James how he obtained it.

To which James replies "You should head back to the junk shop to see what else you can find!"

Tom fell in love with the bed and wanted to show it to his longtime girlfriend Alice, who would be moving into the flat in a couple of days. Tom then spends the following couple of hours cleaning and polishing the luxurious bed. He repeatedly moves it about to find the ideal spot for it. James, who was also enamored with the bed, jokingly suggested someone might try to snatch it. Because Tom & James were throwing a party the next day to celebrate the end of their exams.

So Tom considered chaining it to the floor, such was his profound attachment to the bed. It was getting late, and Tom naturally wanted to call it a night, and also because he couldn't wait to sleep in his new bed. He says goodnight to James. Closing his bedroom door. He switches off the lights, pulls back the covers, and jumps into bed, quickly falling asleep.

The next day was Friday, Tom wakes up with his alarm clock ringing in his ear. It was 7.00 am. As he gets out of bed, he starts stroking his arms like something was irritating his skin. After using the bathroom, he walks out of his bedroom and walks downstairs into the kitchen, where he sees James at the table. He sits down with James, and they have breakfast together.

James asks him "How did you sleep, last night?" As he places a fresh cup of coffee in front of him.

After taking a sip from the cup Tom replies "It was the best night's sleep I've ever had!"

James asks. "Can I try out the bed sometime?"

Tom smiles saying, "I'll think about it."

After breakfast, Tom takes a shower, as he washes he notices a series of red marks on his body but takes no notice of them. He had a hectic day with the party this evening, and his girlfriend Alice would be arriving the next day, after visiting her parents. Tom was excited because Alice said she had some important news to tell him.

And he was planning to propose to her, with a diamond ring that his parents gave him. Which had been in the family for generations. Tom asks James for some privacy, so he could spend some time alone with Alice. James was happy to do so, as he arranges to stay with his girlfriend for the week. But he said he might pop into the flat to recover a letter he was expecting.

Tom & James leave the flat to meet up with their friends Sarah, Britney, and Justin. Who wanted to start picking up all the food and drinks for the party this evening. Going to various shops, they transport all the food and drink back to the flat. They then start clearing away furniture and anything that might get damaged, as they layout a few tables. The clock went fast because by the time they were finished it was early evening.

Tom & James quickly get changed as small groups of people started showing up. James swiftly rushes to the door and waves them all into the flat.

Tom looks nervous as he asks James, "How many people will be coming?"

Because he didn't have a clue who half of these people were. As Tom hastily lays out extra cans of beer on the tables, with Britney & Sarah assisting him. James tells him to relax, and enjoy himself as more people start to arrive, as Justin switches on the music.
