The Unistar event would begin at 4 p.m at the plaza beside the city mall. This mall was quite far from my university, so I took the BTS sky train to get there.
I knew there would be many fans occupying the space, as I heard it was already crowded, almost no place to stand. Only the special zone left for the media and fans using the membership point to redeem.
"Ohho!"
Once arrived, the plaza was full of people as expected. Most of them were female fans but still had some male fans.
Each fan wore the shirt in a specific colour, apparently the same group with the same colour, and they were holding the fandom light sign. I just noticed that each Unistar fandom had its own colour.
P'Sea — white, P'Leo — yellow, P'In — grey, P'Natee — light blue, P'Wayu — purple, and colour combination from imaginary couples like white-yellow or light blue-purple.
And what color I was wearing today? I looked at myself—black shirt, not related to any fandom.
I realised the benefit of being invisible today, I could get myself into the crowd near the stage, this exclusive space must be reserved since the morning.
I saw the Unistar logo with the Maxxwell cloth brands and other sponsor logos on the backdrop stage. In front of the stage, there were many cameras for broadcasting on MWTV channel and live on online social media.
I didn't wait too long until the event host came out with many fans screaming. This host is the interviewer that I often saw in the UNISTAR Show Time program.
"Hello, all UNITY! please give your cheer voice! Welcome everyone to the new launch of Maxxwell fashion collection! Wow! Today many UNITYS are overwhelmingly gathering here—
"And of course, because our brand ambassadors today is — The national Moons — UNISTAR!"
Then, the host briefed about the schedule of today's event and thanked all sponsors on the list, as well as introduced the overall introduction of Maxxwell brand, the subsidiary of MW company.
"...get ready, and meet with our five UNISTAR!"
The screaming sound was the loudest at this time, I even needed to cover my ears as it was too loud, almost felt dizzy. I noticed this event didn't only get attention from people at the plaza, but people in the mall, every floor including from the sky train station, they were also watching.
Right now, the stage was adorned with colourful light and surrounded by the great opening soundtrack.
When the first Unistar member stepped out, everyone was screaming crazily.
I stared and focused, the first man with a tall and bright skin, wearing the casual fashion cloth with a simple colour tone. The design looked gorgeous and well-matched but suited for hot weather.
At first, I didn't recognise who this person was, until hearing a group of white shirt fans shouting.
"Ahhh, P'Sea!"
That Seagull Sea?, I eventually recalled. I blinked and kept watching. He looked a bit different in real life. On screen, he seemed to be thinner, but his actual body was quite firm, also tall, with his truly white skin — as if he was shining.
"Ahhh, P'Wayu!"
Next, the screaming came at the right time as P'Wayu stepped out, counter with P'Sea walking back. When I saw the real P'Wayu, I finally understood why he made our university almost explode whenever he came.
P'Wayu with this fashion set was so attractive. Where was the unfunny P'Wayu? Where was P'Wayu who always made the fail understandable joke? I wasn't sure if I knew him anymore. Here. I only saw a cool outstanding man as if he came out from the model magazine. His serious gaze was so damn hot.
"Ahhh, P'Natee!"
P'Natee walked out with a seductive smirk. His seductress was different from P'Wayu's. P'Natee was more muscular and tanned skin. The most attractive was his devastatingly handsome smile, abled to melt every girl's heart at any time.
"Ahhh, P'In!"
Hearing the name of the next, I immediately turned my attention.
"P'In...really?" My eyes widened while glaring at the man who just stepped out.
P'In was still handsome like an angel — emotionless face angel. In addition, P'In wore a fashion cloth, stylish hair, and had his face made up like an actual model. I wasn't sure...
Was that the same P'In in the morning?
P'In on the stage right now was ten times more attractive than usual, Only normal walking could get all the spotlight, despite no expression on his face.
I eventually realised, why did many people say that P'In was literally standing out in the light because a man like me couldn't even take my eyes off him.
After P'In walked back. Then, it was P'Leo's turn. He was the main model of this event. Normally, every brand promoting campaign would select the most outstanding Unistar featured as the centre model. The selection criteria weren't specific. Sometimes this position was chosen by PD, sometimes by the brand, sometimes by the fans' votes, sometimes it was selected via the trend.
The brand collection this time was the classy casual cloth. This image was the most suitable for P'Leo.
P'Leo walked out predominantly, with the loud screaming fan's voice surrounding. Because he was the centre of this event, his cloth was extremely outstanding. I admitted that P'Leo was indeed the ideal Moon. Every inch, every angle, every part of him — appearance, shape, expression were all literally perfect.
After showing off all Unistar members. The theme soundtrack was changed. P'Leo was standing in the centre pedestal, other members walked out again and standing around. Then, it was the end of the fashion walk. The crowd was overwhelmingly applauded.
The main objective of the Unistar project was to be the brand ambassador. So modelling or shooting commercial advertising was the most common job for Unistar members.
Now the host came out to continue the event. Although the fashion walk didn't take so long, there would be an interview with Unistar and talking to the fans. The staff rearranged the stage, and replaced the temporary catwalk with chairs.
"The fashion walk was over, for the new Maxxwell collection. Does everyone like it? Please give me some voice."
Actually, the host didn't even need to ask, the fans already screamed, as I really wanted the earplug.
"Okay then. If any fans miss the event or want to rewatch again, you can watch in on the UNISTAR official fan page."
The host began the interview part.
"We got the chance to talk with Unistar now, let's see, could you present the collection for the fans? Who will volunteer?"
P'Leo, the centre of this event volunteered himself. He used a mic to talk about the brand and promote the concept of the collection. Next, the host asked some general questions: Have you been preparing for a long time? How did you rehearse the fashion walk? How did Leo and Sea - who study medicine - managed time to work? Everyone participated in answering, except P'In. who still sat quietly.
"Oh, but every effort for the fans was worth it right? So now, as many fans want to see Unistar. Some fans have been waiting since this morning. We should let Unistar greet the fans now, right?"
The fans were screaming in response.
"Start with N'Leo ka."
"Alright," P'Leo said. "Well, thank you to the fans for supporting me all along. I'm very happy to meet everyone. I promise to keep working hard and not to disappoint you. Love you krub. Miss you."
P'Leo gave an angel smile and made a mini-heart to the fans. Everyone happily screamed. Sure enough, this way of talking, he was indeed the prince of the Unistar.
"Next, how about N'Sea? please greet the fan."
"No problem," P'Sea holding a mic.
"The weather today is hot and sunny, and everyone is standing under the sun. Thank you so much for being patient for us. Please take care of your health. I always care about you. If you're not feeling well, you can come to me."
The scream responded right away. P'Sea was a seemingly a bit cold and calm person. Yet, when greeting the fans, he turned into a sweet and caring person.
"What's about N'Wayu? Any sweet jokes for the fan club?"
"There's no 'Fan club'," P'Wayu grinned.
"They're all my 'Fan[2] krub'."
Another homophone joke? I wasn't sure. Anyway, the fans screamed. Only a few sentences from P'Wayu, but took a lot of impacts.
"Wow, Can I be N'Wayu's 'fan' too?" The host went along with his joke.
"Of course, that's why I named Wayu." He smiled.
"Huh? How?" The host couldn't get his joke. The Fans also. Me, also.
"Because 'fan' created the wind, and 'Wayu' In Thai means wind. Wind and WAYU are like soulmates, me and fan as well."
P'Wayu winked at the fans, and the fans screamed whatever the joke he made. Did they get it? I don't know. He made jokes, Fans screamed, fair enough.
"If your fans are all your girlfriends, isn't that too much? several at a time? Very promiscuous." P'Natee suddenly criticised.
P'Wayu made a fury gaze on him.
"Wow, P'Natee is getting jealous."
"Don't like P'Wayu cheating on you, right?
Apparently, their fans interpreted in another way.
"Oh, then, as N'Natee is already holding a mic, how about greeting the fans now?"
"Hmm." P'Natee lowered his voice.
"Thank you for coming. This time you came, next time also must come. If you dare not come to see me. I'll be angry. Seriously. Honestly."
P'Natee showed his thumb against the fans, as a sign of the feeling of being neglected. And the fans also screamed. P'Natee's characteristic was straightforward and very direct. If he was mad at seeing fans ignore him, he just said so. The fans who defeated a fierce guy would kneel on him.
"Who cares? If he gets angry, just come to me." P'Wayu shot back.
"Oh, P'Wayu is tsundere."
"P'Wayu is just sulking of P'Natee."
Apparently, their fans had the best imagination.
"Come to the last person, N'In. What you want to say to the fans?"
As soon as in P'In's turn of speech. Not only me waiting for this moment. All the surrounding sound was suddenly silent as if someone turned the volume down. Everyone was paying attention to whatever P'In would say. Seemingly, hearing P'In said a sentence was rare.
P'In slowly lifted the mic and reached out to pick the bag that was hidden behind the chair.
I glanced. It was a transparent plastic bag with the paper carp inside, obviously, all were folded by himself.
Right... included the carp from my signature book's paper.
"I saw on twitter, many of my fans wanted it." P'In spoke with monotone.
"I kept folding continually until got this much."
P'In looked over at the fans who were wearing the grey shirt, he seemed like estimating the number.
"Should enough for my fans." P'In then handed it to the stage staff.
The grey-shirt fandom became crazily exciting. Nothing better than getting a hand-made gift from their favourite idol. Undoubtedly, the other colour fandom could only look with jealousy.
I looked at P'In, considering. No wonder, why the fans love him so much. Even though P'In didn't often post, respond, or appear, he didn't even need a sweet word of fan service. Only honest caring. That's enough.
"Wow! that's the cutest. He made a gift for the fans, so touching. As N'In already informed the staff in advance. So we already arranged this for all DomKati. For everyone's convenience, after the event, All N'In fans can take his gift on-site beside the stage. The staff will make the line for queue up. DomKati who register as a Unity fan or wearing DomKati shirts will be the priority."
P'In's fans were very delightful, and seemed to be ready for the queue. I estimated the amount of his fans should be a lot, but he prepared paper carp also a lot.
I was impressed. How could P'In fold so many paper carps like that? How long did it take? How many days, weeks, or months?
Unexpectedly, at the moment when I was looking at P'In. He just turned to me, and our eyes met.
P'In saw me? My eyes opened wider. Perhaps, P'In just randomly looked over here, but taking a long time, so I wasn't sure.
Since I and P'In were quite far from each other. He was on the high stage, in the middle of the light. While I was surrounded by a crowd. How was it possible?
In order to test, I waved my hand to greet P'In.
I thought P'In would stay still, regardless if he saw me or not.
Unexpectedly, P'In nodded slightly.
"Oh." I was surprised.
P'In pointed to the stage's side, where the staff arranged for the fans lining up to take his paper carp.
However, I couldn't confirm anything more, as when the host finished thanked Unistar and sponsors, all members waved a hand for goodbye to the fans and returned to the back of the stage.
Before P'In went back, he glanced at me, and again, pointed to the pick-up paper carp zone. Then, he was gone.
I didn't know why. Only a short time of unclear communication, but I could understand without thinking.
P'In seemed to say that many paper carps that he had folded-
He wanted me to keep one.
