4 Weeks Later, 11 am, PSAHQ
The 2-month break for Konstantine is finished and returns to PSA Offices. The employees treat him with the same respect as his last appearance. Many are asking him how was his break with his response saying that it went well to the others.
Konstantine’s current duty for now since he has no missions assigned yet is to assist around the office. As he walked around, he notices that Riley’s desk is empty. He thinks of asking the other office workers about Riley, but he decided on asking Sir Davis since he knows how to analyze body language and emotions.
12:15 pm, Sir Davis’ Office
Konstantine enters by elevator and sees Sir Davis on his desk. “Konstantine.”, Sir Davis stood up as he saw him and said his name. He approaches Sir Davis and goes for a hug. He hugs Konstantine back, knowing that he’s feeling appreciative for the confrontation 4 weeks ago.
As they let go of the hug, Konstantine goes for the initiative of what he is here for. “Listen, I came here because I want to know something.”, Sir Davis listens to Konstantine as he is about to give a question, “Did something happen to Riley while I was away?”
Sir Davis sees the curiosity and concern of Konstantine about Riley. He takes a moment and answers what happened at the beginning. “Well, while you are away, Riley was working hard as usual.”, Konstantine rolled his eye as of knowing Riley but continues to listen to Sir Davis as he continues, “Somehow, he asked to a break within a week after I assigned your break.”
Konstantine knows what Sir Davis is talking about. He decided to go with the flow by asking, “Any idea why?”, Sir Davis answers on his recall, “He got a date.”, “Oh? did it go well?”, Konstantine asks in order to know what happened to Riley after their confrontation. Sir Davis leaned on his desk and answers, “Well, it didn’t end on a romantic note. He got hit with the “We should just be friends” bullet.”
Hiding his relief by nodding, Konstantine sees that Riley kept his word. Wanting to know more, he asks Sir Davis, “Did that affect him on his work ethic?”, “Luckily, no it did not.”, Sir Davis replied to the inquiry by Konstantine. He nodded again after hearing the aftermath of Riley, but then Sir Davis adds, “It did change something in him, however.”
Concern grew into Konstantine when he heard that. He questions the statement asking, “What do you mean?”, Sir Davis stood up and walks to the elevator saying, “Come with me. I’ll show you.”, Konstantine became more concerned as he followed Sir Davis to the elevator.
12:20 pm, PSA Training Floor
They enter the training floor for PSA members. This floor is mainly introduced to beginners who are training to be spies and engineers for the gadgets. This floor is made for gadget testing, shooting practices, and parkour training.
As they walked across the floor, Riley is spotted in the parkour training course. Konstantine questions, “Why is he here?”, “He wanted to be a spy now.”, Sir Davis replied to Konstantine, resulting in him being astonished at the response. “What made him decide that?”, Sir Davis gives an honest answer to Konstantine’s question by replying, “To be honest, I don’t know. He’s determined, however.”
Konstantine cannot believe his eyes upon seeing Riley working hard on the parkour training course. A sweaty, hard-breathing, exhausted Riley pulling off every effort. Konstantine questions the timing of his training by asking Sir Davis, “When did he start?”, to which Sir Davis replied, “Two weeks ago.”
He nodded at the reply by Sir Davis. Konstantine looks on at Riley, who is now sitting out, resting from his training. “Should we just let him be?”, “Yeah, Let’s.”, Sir Davis agreed to the suggestion by Konstantine. Both went back to the elevator and head back to their own duties.
12:40 pm, PSA Offices
Riley manages to get back to his desk after his parkour training. However, during his time working, he didn’t have single eye contact with Konstantine as he strolls around the office. Even Konstantine himself didn’t want to disturb Riley, figuring that he is still bitter since the dinner-table conversation.
6 pm
Time passes and some people in the office are getting ready for their dismissal. As Konstantine says his farewell to some of the employees leaving, he walks around and sees Riley missing from his desk again. An office member took notice of Konstantine being worried about Riley. He called out by asking, “You worried about Riley?”, “Yeah, very.”, Konstantine admitted to his employee. “Well you should be, He’s finally trying to shoot for once.”, said the worker as he leaves. Konstantine wonders if he was joking, but seeing him left, he had to see it for himself.
PSA Training Floor
Konstantine enters the shooting range room, and from there he sees Riley holding a Glock, nervous. He takes aim, tries to focus on the target, pulls the trigger, he missed. He put the gun down and tries to calm himself from feeling the recoil of the gun.
Konstantine was not surprised that he missed, knowing that he never at first wanted to fire a gun, but knows that he has to at this point. He enters the instructor’s booth to analyze Riley’s form. The instructor asks him if he could do it again, he just nods.
He picks up his Glock, goes for the same routine, misses again. “Damn it.”, Riley puts down his pistol again, trying to figure out what’s wrong. Konstantine looks unpleased since the first shot.
“Have you ever told him what’s wrong?”, Konstantine asks the instructor. “Well, he wants to figure it out himself.”, replied the instructor. This made Konstantine more disappointed to the point that he has to call him out himself. “Give me the mic.”, the instructor did what Konstantine told him to give.
Konstantine has the microphone and says, “Riley, you might hate me for doing this, but you’re doing it wrong.”, Riley grunts in a disappointed manner as encountering Konstantine is the last thing he wanted. He continues saying, “You’re letting your arms weak, your shoulders are too high which is a risk of injury, and you close your eyes as you pull the trigger.”, it made Riley disappointed in himself as he heard Konstantine mark the errors. “If you are willing to go forward, know this. Breath, Compose, and finally No Mercy.”, Konstantine leaves after he said that. The instructor asks if he wants to continue. Riley looked down hearing what Konstantine said. Reflecting on it, Riley ended up replying, “Another time.”
