I forgot to separate this properly so update comes early! Thanks for reading ^^
I honestly haven't enjoyed any incarnation of these two better than this version. Aceline is a simple child and easy in a lot of ways to write for. Armel is harder, because he's usually very aware of his behaviour/coping mechanisms, but that can be detrimental if he fixates on himself too much. In this case romantic love isn't fixing his problems, but is making him feel loved and supported ^^ I hope that feels healthy ^^'
Aceline was so supportive and honest with him. She deeply cares for him. Plus they kissed! 😍 So sweet! Truly it is a joy to read as their relationship blossoms.
Also, I busted out laughing when she asked if he would trust her judgement of describing his appearance to her. “Not as ancient and crotchety as you” 🤣 Very cute!
Romance shouldn’t fix your problems, but it can help you become a better version of yourself if it’s healthy and the right relationship. I definitely see these two being the support and love they needed. I am glad we are seeing it now so it will help them be stronger together in battling the remaining curses.
I’m still racking my brain over our faerie tales and the Faerie Blood book to see how they will intertwine with the curses. I’m here for it!
Thank you again as always, RosesnWater. I’m so glad you are loving this version of your main characters too. It really shows!
Aceline Capet is a noble-in-hiding. After suffering a devastating loss, she becomes obsessed with killing the monster that lives in the forest surrounding her small village. However, when her father steals a rose from a faerie, she offers herself up in its place.
In order to have any chance at revenge on the creature that ruined her life, Aceline is forced to unravel the mysteries surrounding the secretive fae lord who took her captive. What she doesn't realize is that inside his palace, they are both prisoners and they'll have to work together to free themselves.
