This had to be a joke. A colossal, the-world-gets-off-on-fucking-with-me kind of joke. I stared in disbelief at the flashy red car stuck in a snowbank on the side of the road. A convertible Jaguar sports car? In the Rocky Mountains in January. No. Surely not. Whatever it was, it was blocking the long, secluded road to the cabin my parents owned. I’d already met my quota of being social for the day since I’d just finished my weekly run into town to stock up on groceries, so I was eager to get back to the solitude of home. Unfortunately, as much as I would have liked to just steer my truck around the ridiculous vehicle, my instinct to help kicked in, and I took my foot off the gas to let my truck roll to a slow stop almost next to the car so I wouldn’t end up in the same predicament as the clueless driver next to me. A blur of white climbed out of the sports car as I stepped out of my own vehicle (after making sure to angle my tires and set the emergency brake like a sane person). My battered snow boots hit the icy ground with a thunk-scritch, and I grabbed my heavy parka from the passenger seat before slamming the truck door closed.
"Need help?" I asked, unnecessarily while shouldering on my coat and zipping it up.
"Erm, no thanks." The guy spoke with a heavy kind of british english accent? kinda reminds me of someone else, but anyhow I was awestruck. The guy gave me a slight smile, my stomach flipped and flopped as he neared me, yet he wobbled right before slipping on the icy pavement. I grabbed his arm to keep him from taking us both down and a shimmer of warmth cascaded through me as the slim body crashed into mine. My own feet began to lose traction as the guy let out a muffled "oomph" against my chest. I somehow managed to keep us both upright, but I had to grab onto more firm flesh than I would have preferred in order to do it. "Shit! Hell, sorry!" The guy blurted before locking eyes on me. And then it was like time itself came to a complete stop. Magical blue irises sparkled in the late afternoon sun, and fair skin bloomed pink in the cold winter air. The tall pine trees all around us gave the scene a kind of peaceful hush as the two of us just stood and stared at each other through a few inches of frosty air. I could see that, he was fucking gorgeous. Beautiful, like a… like a movie star or a famous singer, maybe. The kind of look that made sure you couldn’t look away. Was it just his eyes? Or was it… What in the hell was he wearing? I was on sensory overload as I took in his hair, which was covered by some kind of fur lined cable knit beanie that I swear to god looked like it was spun from the hair of angels. Angora? Was that a thing? I skirted my eyes lower to take in the rest of him and nearly went blind at the sight of all the white. Because everything he was wearing was white. Everything. A chunky turtleneck sweater that framed his face perfectly, tight-fitting wool pants of some kind, and, Jesus Christ, were those Ugg boots? Please, no. I couldn't grasp this situation, I was stunned. "Im, so sorry." I made sure he was steady before stepping back a bit to look at him again.
"I think you need help." He waved his hands in some kind of protest. He looked beautifully hilarious.
"This car….what a waste. It's new and I needed to get here. Yet the stupid guy in the shop said its fine for all weather…."
"The guy was lying. That car is not for snow. That's for snow." I said, pointing to my truck.
"Stupid stupid stupid idiot." He muttered, stomping his foot on the ground.
"Why are you up here?" He shot me a look, a look that made my balls ache.
"Fine dammit," He grumbled. "Please help me get to the lodges up the mountain."
"Why do you need to get there?"
"Well...I'm using a lodge for a while," Yeah, I knew it. And if that’s where he was headed, I was in big fucking trouble. I couldn't take my eyes off him. His dizzying sweet scent filters around me, making my mouth fill with saliva. So I thought I best keep my gob shut or I'd dribble all over the snow covered ground. I'm not so sure drooling would be a very good look. "Erm, do I have something on my face?" He asked.
I gulped. God! No. I had to talk. "Sorry. I'll help you."
"Great. Thank you," he paused briefly staring up at me. "Can you tow my car?"
"Right. Sure. I think I have stuff in the back. Would you like to get anything out of the car before I sort it?"
"Oooh," he squeaked. Fuck! I thought. That squeak went straight to my nuts and poor deprived dick. "I need my suitcase."
"Great. You get that and I'll sort…." What in the hell is he doing? He was hopping from one foot to the other as if the snow was hot lava or something. I had to hold my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing.
"Oh! My name is Nathaniel!" He shouted, when he finally made it back to the car. Which was only feet away. So I've no idea why he's shouting.
"Nice to meet you Nathaniel, but I wouldn't shout when there's mountains of snow. Unless you want to be snow covered and possibly die a very nasty frost bitten death."
"Oh dear." He muttered, making his way back to me. Dragging a bright red suitcase behind him.
"Would you like help with that?"
"Well, you're helping me so much already. Considering I'm the idiot who thought a car like that could be used in the snow."
"We're all idiots sometimes."
"So you're admitting I'm an idiot?"
"Well, you said it yourself….but, god…" Oh Jesus, I was stuttering. He's so damn pretty and cute and smells so damn good, I didn't want him to cry.
Then he smiled. Huge. Big. Massive. No. Not the deathly perfect beautiful smile. I'm fucked, royally. "I'm just messing. What's your name?"
"Nice to meet you Craig. Here's my bag."
"You're totally welcome." He beamed and wobbled past me. Who in the hell? What? Why am I thanking him? Like seriously what is going on? So I shook my head and spun around and watched him struggle to get his footing getting in my truck. Please don't slip again, my mind whispered. Or maybe he could and I could catch him again, just smell him or let his scent seep into my clothes. Yet if he was going to be at the cabins where I'm staying I'd most likely bump into the guy again. And again I was shaking my head.
I quickly put his case in the back of my truck and pulled some tarp over it so it wouldn't get wet and pulled the thick heavy chains from the back. God knows I needed to be here. I had to get away from Florida. Away from Walker and Marcus, although those two dip shits didn't stop calling me to see if I'm okay. It was annoying but sweet all the same. Wasn't the point of me getting away from them is so that I could forget I had a big thing for my cousins very heavily pregnant boyfriend or fiancé or whatever? But it was and it's been working, kind of. Now that I had attached the chains to both our vehicles all I needed to do now was get in my truck and go. But looking at the guy getting all up and compy in my truck was possibly going to be hell? Sweet hell? Maybe. "...shit," I hissed and made my way back to my truck. "You okay?" I asked, getting in with him.
Nathaniel smiled and my heart ba dumped. "I'm fine, nice truck."
"Thanks. Let's get going."
"Sure," he breathed. Oh fuck me to hell! He...god, he's so beautiful. Is he an Omega? Alpha? I wasn't sure. I couldn't tell, but he smelled so good. Not sure if it's him or a floral cologne. Luckily for me I was stocked up on my own suppressants. I didn't really feel like having an episode like back in Germany with Marcus. Yet if this guy was an Omega It could possibly be likely that I might do. Should I ask him? "Don't worry. It's safe," as if this guy could read my mind? Right? "I'm very careful, you don't need to worry...Mr Alpha." Apparently he could.
"Right? Good...that's good." No. No this wasn't good. I...actually really wanted this guy. Not good.
Dangerous. Really stupidly dangerous.
All I ask for is some quiet time and this. What. The. Fuck. Have. I just done?
