"Please eat, Señorito Nexus. Señorito Maximino will scold us once he finds out that you haven't eaten yet." Said one of the three housemaids that surrounds Nexus as he sat in the middle of a large, wide and long table.
It has been a week since he has been locked up in Maximino's mansion. All the housemaids are guarding him, following him everywhere he goes. Even the gardeners, drivers and even the guards of the mansion are guarding him, making sure he could not escape. No matter how many or whatever excuses he says, they really won't let him wander all by himself. He couldn't even get on the phone so he could call Michael and ask for help. The only time where he could be alone is when he's inside Maximino's room and there is nothing inside the room that he could use as an escape.
He had already toured around the entire mansion to find his possible escape route but to no avail, he found nothing and it's frustrating the hell out of him.
Also, ever since Maximino told him that he would prove to him that he had nothing to do with those assholes raping him, he would rarely see him.
Sometimes he would wake up every midnight, with Maximino entering the room and sleeps next to him. But he is already gone the moment he wakes up in the morning. And this has been going on for days.
He did not know what was bothering him and he doesn't really care. Contrary to that, he's actually hoping that he wouldn't come home and never to show up ever again so that he can return to his former life.
"We are begging you, Señorito Nexus. Eat at least a little." One of the housemaids said in a pleading way.
He sighed.
It's not that he does not want to eat. He just doesn't really feel like it for his thoughts are occupied with some other things, like thinking of different plans for him to escape.
"Señorito ---"
"Let him be, ladies. If he still doesn't want to eat, then don't force him." The butler, Rosal said, causing them to turn their attention to her.
She just came out of the kitchen, where she always stays, and she approached them. "Go back to your jobs. I'll take care of Señorito Nexus." Rosal said and the housemaids quickly obeyed.
"Are the dishes we prepared not to your liking, Señorito?" Rosal asked as she took a step closer to him.
Nexus shook his head quickly. "N-no. It's not that. I just really don't feel like eating for now." He replied to the butler.
Rosal nodded understandingly.
"If it's not too much to ask, Señorito, may I know what you are thinking as of the moment? You look like you are troubled by something." Rosal said.
He scratched his neck. He don't know what to say to the old woman.
He couldn't just tell her that he is thinking of different ways on how he can escape. He is sure that she will just report him to Maximino. It is not unknown to him that Maximino has assigned Rosal to take care of him personally and he is sure that she reports to Maximino everything that is happening to him. But he finds it hard to lie to her, especially with that genuine smile and understanding look she's giving him while she stares at him and waiting for his answer.
Rosal suddenly smiled. "You don't have to answer my question. I'm sorry if you think I'm interfering---"
"Oh, no!" He said quickly, cutting her off. "It's not like that." He continued then bowed his head. "I'm just thinking about my friends. I haven't been able to talk to them for a week and they also don't know where I am. I am sure that they are already worried about me." He replied.
Well, what he said wasn't all a lie. It's true that he's also thinking about Michael and his co-workers. He's pretty sure that by now, Michael is already doing everything that he can to find him. And he's hoping that he'll find him sooner and help him.
"Is that so? I thought you were thinking of a plan on how to get out of this mansion and to escape from Señorito Maximino." Rosal replied causing him to look back at her.
His eyes widened and he gulped. He suddenly got nervous.
But the old woman seemed to have read what he was thinking. "Don't worry, Señorito. I have no bad intentions. Also, it's impossible for you to escape and get out of here so there is no reason for me to tell this to Señorito Maximino." Rosal said and chuckled.
His face frowned at what she said. He averted his eyes from the old woman.
Impossible? No. That is not true. With the right timing, he will be able to leave this mansion without them even knowing.
But his eyes went back at Rosal when she sighed heavily.
Their eyes met and the old butler gave him a faint smile. "I know you're itching to get out of here. And I also know how much you hate Señorito Maximino but I hope you could widen your understanding of him, Señorito Nexus." The old woman said, a trace of sadness could be seen in her eyes. "I raised that child. I know him very well. I know you think of him as a bad person or maybe a demon. But I assure you, Señorito Nexus, Señorito Maximino also has a kindness inside of him. What you're seeing right now isn't the whole Maximino. There is much more about him that you don't know Señorito. So I hope you could give him a chance. I hope you can open your heart to him." She calmly said.
He averted his gaze from Rosal again and clenched his fists. "It is easy for you to say that because you did not experience what I had experienced. You did not experience the pains that he himself caused me. You did not lose anything. It is not your life that was ruined." He answered emphatically.
He can't contain the anger he's feeling. He can't believe how easy it is for other people to ask someone like him, who's been through a lot of shits, who has a fucked up past, to forgive those who wronged them, when they don't even know their story. They don't have even a single idea on what he's been through yet they're saying shits, as if they have experienced it firsthand.
Why don't they try to put themselves in his shoes? If they do and when they have already experienced what he has experienced, and they would still say the same thing, he may even consider what their opinions. But if they do not know anything, it is better for them to just remain silent.
A few minutes of silence passed between him and Rosal before he heard her sigh. "You're right. I am not in the position to say those things." She then bowed. "I'm sorry, Señorito Nexus. Please be assured that this will never happen again." Rosal apologizes.
He sighed. He somehow was able to keep his cool. "It's okay. Let's just forget about it." He said and gave her a small smile.
Rosal smiled back at him. "Thank you very much, Señorito." She said.
He was about to give her a reply when a maid from the kitchen took their attention, she was calling Rosal.
Rosal turned her eyes back to him. "I'll leave you first, Señorito. If you need anything, just let me know and I'll gladly assist you."
He smiled at her and nodded in response.
Rosal turned her back on him and made her way towards the kitchen. But before she could even reach the kitchen, she stopped for a moment and looked back at him.
"Señorito Nexus." She called that made him frown. "Let me give you some advice, Seńorito. If you really don't want to be locked up in this mansion, then please fix your attitude towards Señorito Maximino and give him a reason to trust you." Rosal said while smiling before she bowed down and turned her back on him again and continued on walking towards the kitchen, not even letting him speak.
His gaze just followed the old butler.
He blinked for a couple of times, his mind was still processing what Rosal just said.
If you really don't want to be locked up in this mansion, then please fix your attitude towards Señorito Maximino and give him a reason to trust you.
He repeated what the old butler said. "Fix your attitude towards Señorito Maximino. Give him a reason to trust you. Give him a reason to trust you..." His eyes widened and then he gasped when he finally gathered his thoughts.
And he grinned as he whispered. "I definitely will, Ms.Rosal. I will definitely give him a reason to trust me. An enough reason that would help me to get away from this hellhole."
