I truly feel incredibly sorry for Souta, he had wished to join the soccer team and actually do well for so long, so that he now can’t play as much as he used to before. You could consider this situation like those points in your life where you don’t reach a goal you had worked so hard to achieve. Thats one of the main reasons I love this story, it deals with character’s internal (there’s been an insight into external, but maybe it’ll be discuss deeper in the future) conflicts and how they are able to overcome them. hopefully as the camp progresses souta can find a way to cheer up again and realize he is still a phenomenal player, even if he doesn’t have the opportunity to play as much, anymore.
