My feet left the ground as they moved me forward. I felt weightless as a warm relaxation took over my mind and body. My eyes fixed on a ripple of what looked like some kind of reflection of a water's surface. I didn't know what to expect so I held my breath waiting for the impact. A cool mist-like feeling passed over my skin as I emerged through the substance to the forest's edge. Blinding white moonlight had me blinking a few times before my eyes could focus. In shock at the magical waterfall before me, I was motionless as they placed me on the ground once again.
The crystal water shimmered like stars dancing along its surface, illuminating a soft blue glow from the sky above. As if competing to outshine one another. The trees around the edges were a pale white, the leafs themselves seemed to sparkle like diamonds. My eyes followed down the watery path to a small cabin resting silently beside the opposite edge of me. It looked well kept and somehow… familiar.
‘Did they teleport me? This makes no sense. How could I not have heard this rawr from the massive waterfall in the forest? Maybe it was the mist I went through back there? This did look like a sacred place.’ I thought as I looked back from where I came.
“ Go go!” The tiny voices behind me shewed.
“ Should I really be here? This place looks uh, important.” I said at them with a worried brow.
I swear I could feel their eyes roll at me. “ Just go!” they all said together once again.
“ Sheesh! Alright.” I said fixing my red cloak into a side cape again. The temperature was much warmer than in the forest. The cool crispness of the air was refreshing on my skin as I slid down the small hill to the creek. As I came closer to the cabin I could hear two faint voices. They sounded upset as they battered back and forth to one another.
“ Why are you always here? Why do you refuse to stay with us?” One voice became more clear as I approached. He sounded young and upset.
“ I told you before, Yun, don’t come here! If the pack sees you with me you will get in trouble. You need to leave.” The second voice I placed as Alric. He sounded a bit frantic.
“ I don’t care, Alric! I miss you! I miss us!” Yun said with a choked cry.
“ Yun… I- I’m sorry. Things are just… not simple right now. I can’t- “ Alric’s voice became too quiet for me to hear.
“ It’s still because of that demon isn’t it?” Yun snarled. “You even reek of his blood soaked skin. How could you want to be near such a thing?”
“ SILENCE!” Alric’s voice emerged such dominance even I felt my body shudder from his power.
“ Forgive me.” Yun’s voice yipped as he pleaded.
I moved to the side of the cabin where I was finally able to see the two of them. The young boy who I placed as Yun, was a dark skinned male with short black hair that spiked this way and that. Sharp silver eyes that looked filled with fear. He appeared to be about fifteen. Small body frame and little to no muscle on his structure. Loose black clothing hung off of him as he knelt at Alric’s feet. The boy's small wolf ears lay flat against the back of his head as he sank lower to the ground.
“ Get up. Do not grovel at my feet.” Alric’s voice sounded so different. His back was tall and stiff as he looked down at the pup. His soft face somehow became terrifyingly sharp as he lifted his face showing high domence. If I hadn't been looking at him, I never would have believed it to be him. Yun slowly rose to his feet but didn't not dare raise his head.
“ Leave now and don't step foot on this ground unless I tell you to do so. Do you understand?”
“ Yes.” Yun spoke unmoving as small tears ran down his cheek.
Alric’s soft demeanor came back as he made a kind face. He took the boy into his arms and held him for a moment. Patting his head and whispering something in his ear. The boy made a small sob before clinging to Alric. They stood like this for a moment before Alric gently pulled him away.
“ Now get out of here you little twerp,” he said with a tearful smile.
Yun gave him a cute teeth grin before he ran away into the woods.
Alric's shoulders slumped as he looked at the empty space before him.
“ You can come out now,” he said, still staring ahead.
My cheeks flushed. Had he known I was here the whole time? I came from behind the cabin, rubbing my head unsure of what to say.
“ I didn't mean to listen. I was just waiting for a time to approach.” I said a bit sheepishly. His shoulders stiff once again as he kept his back to me.
“ How did you find this place?” His voice had a small shake in it. Was he angry with me? I mean it was clear he didn't want me to follow him but I couldn’t let him just leave like that. I wanted to understand why he suddenly changed.
I stood close to him now. I could feel the heat of his body through the cool air. “ Whisp’s guided me through some kind of…” I wasn’t really sure what it was actually I thought as I pondered it.
“ A mist barrier.” Alric said with a sigh, putting his hand over his face annoyed. “ Damnit, Tinny..” he said, sliding his hand down his face. “ I’m never talking to her again.”
He finally looked at me. Those purple eyes looked tired and frustrated. My heart thumped in my ears as I held his gaze steadily. The sweet look he gave me before was slowly coming back.
“ Why did you come here? You need to rest,” Alric said, turning to me. His arms folded to his chest like he was cold.
“ I wanted to see you. You couldn’t have expected me to just leave you be after what you said.” I wanted to touch him. Run my hands through his silver silk hair. Never had I ever wanted something so badly in my life than this Lycan before me. But I need to stand back. I need to let things happen on their own because I still wasn’t sure what our relationship was. He was throwing so many mixed signals, I really didn't know what to expect anymore. Hell I wasn't even sure what was getting into me. I’d never acted like this before but something about him just calls to me.
His purple eyes watched me as I shifted to a more relaxed stance, showing I wasn’t going anywhere. With a defeated sigh he uncrossed his arms and motioned for me to go inside. I gave him a small smile which he returned with a defeated laugh.
