“Welcome,
“To the beginning of the end.”
This eerie welcome echoed all throughout a vast, infinite darkness. A slight breeze could be felt blowing, but it was certain that no living thing existed in this dark--
“Why, hello, there!” a strange person seemed to have popped out of nowhere and began talking. They wore clothes that were as black as the dark void, even the cloth they wore covering their face was a shade of pitch black, but tied around their waist were two brightly colored sashes; one pink and one green.
“As I was saying, ‘welcome to the beginning of the end.’” The strange person threw their arms up in a flashy style to further emphasize their point. “‘The beginning of the end,’” They repeated themselves, seemingly enjoying how it sounded. “Fear not, my dear friend,” the strange person said ecstatically, raising their voice, only to immediately lower it to a low whisper, “You are reading this story correctly.”
“‘The beginning of the end’, it is exactly as it sounds.” The strange person had begun dancing round and round in a circle and speaking in a slightly teasing, sing-song voice, “Are you confused? Puzzled?” They stopped dancing, turned and said in an all too serious voice, “Confuzzled?”
The strange person then leaned back into an invisible chair or something and crossed their legs. “Fear not, my dear friend.” By now, it was very clear to see that the strange person liked to repeat themselves. Then, as quickly as they had sat down, they had immediately gotten up again. They snapped their fingers, pointed a finger up towards what would have been the sky, and the dark void that surrounded all began to crack open letting bright rays of light leak through.
“Come with me.” The searing light began pouring through like rushing water, eliminating the darkness all at once. The strange person stretched out a hand and repeated themselves one last time, “Come, and let us go to the beginning of the beginning.”
