Dylan's first period was mathematics, so his day so far was still absolute hell. The first week was still mostly the syllabus and cliche 'get to know you' activities, but it was still math nonetheless. He almost fell asleep during the teacher's presentation, but his annoyance and irritation from everything right now seemed to keep him up. His next few classes were the exact same boring syllabus, and somehow Dylan didn't fall asleep during them, but it was lunch now so he didn't care. There weren't really 'clique assigned tables' since there were six long tables in the lunchroom, but during lunch you could eat virtually anywhere but in the halls.
Sure, Dylan had friends, but he wasn't really that close with any of them. He honestly didn't give a shit though, since he often just either ate out at one of the tables or trees in the front of the school, or on the rooftops when it rains. He took his small boxed lunch and headed around to the front of the school, about to head over to one of the tables before noticing a group already there. He shrugged it off and just sat down at the base of on of the oak trees near the entrance of the school. He silently ate his lunch and observed some of the sparrows squabbling at each other. He glanced back over to the group briefing, before his eyes stopping and locking on a specific person at the table.
He was yet again in shock because of Markus, but only because of how many time's he'd ran into that bastard in just a single day. Was he a stalker or something? No, no he most certainly was not. They didn't revolve around each other anyways, so whatever Markus was doing wasn't even his busine- wait why does he look so uncomfortable?
Dylan's thoughts were interrupted when he noticed how uncomfortable Markus looked. Were the others pushing him on something? Wait, why was he worried? Fuck Markus! He deserves to be uncomfortable at the very least. Dylan rolled his eyes and went back to observing the birds, tempted to create some seeds to feed them even if he wasn't allowed to. It's not like he'd be severely penalized for something so trivial anyways. He didn't end up doing it since he decided it wasn't worth getting in trouble for anyways. He still couldn't wait to get his permit though, so he could show off and make Markus pay for what he did, because our main character is a sociopath.
Before he knew it, a few people from the group with Markus had come over to him. He gave them a questioning look before they started to laugh at him. He looked quite offended by this, before his expression tightened into a snarl.
"The fuck are you plebians laughing at?"
He spoke in a harsh tone, but they just started laughing more at him. Dylan was just honestly confused, before noticing Markus coming up behind them and saying
"Aww, cut him some slack, it isn't his fault he looks like Freddy Krueger!"
He said with his same, bratty smile. Dylan seemed, somehow, even more offended, before sighing and shaking his head. He gathered his stuff and stood up not even looking at them before starting to walk away. He was tempted to say something snarky, like how it actually wasn't his fault that instead of having cereal for breakfast he got a fist full of asphalt, but he'd probably end up stuttering or fucking up the wording some how. Dear lord, his mother would be infuriated with him if she knew how much he was cursing in his head.
A familiar face caught up with him and caused him to just speed up more, but Markus stayed hot on his tail. His wide, bitchy little smile stayed glued to his face like he was a petty child who just woke up on Christmas morning.
"Please leave me be"
Dylan scoffed, before Markus picked him up and threw them over his shoulder. Dylan screamed and kicked Markus in the jaw, causing him to stumble back before falling over. Dylan whined audibly as he just had his head slammed straight into the ground, but quickly rolled off Markus and held his head.
"What the fuck is your problem?!"
Dylan yelled at Markus, who immediately burst out in laughter as he rolled onto his stomach and stared dead at Dylan. His smile stayed and he continued to laugh, but didn't say a word. Dylan winced quietly before sputtering timidly under his breathe.
"Stop staring at me!"
He demanded, but when Markus didn't listen he whinnied in annoyance and staggered up to his feet, stomping off. The hell was with that guy? It really ticked off Dylan, but he didn't think of reporting them to the principal. He didn't trust adults and couldn't exactly think of how to properly report it anyways. He still went back to the nurses office to get an icepack though. She seemed concerned at how much Dylan was getting hurt on the literal first half of the first day, but he just played it off as him being accident prone. The nurse recommended he travel with a babysitter. It was safe to say he had a strong urge to slap her. He didn't though, but that goes without say.
