- Arthur POV -
Everything was dark, but my eyes started adjusting to my new surroundings. There was a ghostly figure stood above me. They didn't look tall, four feet at most. They had long grey-ing hair and piercing blue eyes.
"Get up kid, I haven't got all day," it demanded with an impatient tone.
I could barely get to my feet, I had to grab onto ridges in the wall next to me for support, it cut sharply into my fingers but there was no visible sign of any cuts. I felt like an old man. It was all a bit hazy, I couldn't remember how I got here. I could hear talking, but no one was here par the old man and he had gone silent.
We seemed to be in a cave, it was small and there wasn't much space for my 6'1 body to fit standing up. I was crouched over, it ached but I'd rather not hit my head - it was throbbing.
"So, Arthur, I imagine you're a tad confused."
"Confused is an understatement. Where am I? Who the fuck are you?" I didn't mean to swear but forgive me for being a little bit frustrated.
"You're on Earth fool. Do you remember getting in a space rocket and going back through time? Didn't think so." He sighed, laughed and continued taking. "You need not know my name but my reason for being here with you is more than significant for your journey."
He took a long pause and started mumbling under his breath. Without a warning, a sword revealed itself from the floor and rose one what looked like a small pyramid. The figure was still mumbling; the pedestal glowed blue and small box rose from the ground floating towards me. Inside was a chain of some sorts, it held a small circular ring on it - similar to the one I was given by my father.
All the distractions and floating objects distracted from the fact the old-man had gone - as though he was never there. I felt inclined to take the chain and did so, it was the exact right size to fit me and I slipped it on. I took hold of the handle of the sword but it didn't come loose.
On the pedestal were some words, carved very faintly. The stone had eroded somehow.
Thou who wields the sword, wields the will of men. Protect those who need protecting.
I pulled once more on the handle and it was released from the pedestal - which crumbled to ash. The sword had a light feel to it, it was easy to swing. Although I had never held a real sword before, they did fencing at my old school and I was one of the best in the team if I say so myself.
I noticed more carvings on the hilt of the sword.
Until the lambs become lions.
I felt like I had heard that somewhere before, it was like a memory.

I have to go soon son, you'll never see me ever again but I hope that you follow in the path of your grandfather. Some say I'm a coward for not taking the sword but there's a reason for that. I love you kid. Fight for those who need it. Until the lambs become lions.

It was so vivid in my mind, I have never remembered anything about my dad before.
I could hear those voices again, they were getting louder and louder. My body shuddered, as though I was being woken up somehow. Once again, I fell backwards - everything went black.
