What I liked about this book:

The idea of a post apocalyptic Britain run like North Korea is undoubtedly interesting as a concept. I think the author also put a lot of work into researching how such an authoritarian regime might be run. And it was if nothing else pretty easy to read.

What I did NOT like about this book:

This isn't a book, it's a summary.

Nowhere in any of this am I given any information as to the character's mental state or what they're feeling. I feel like I'm reading a textbook written about a place that doesn't exist, and I don't really like reading textbooks all that much if I'm being honest.

The author needs to show instead of tell because right now there's nothing in here to really get me invested in the story. After five chapters I just...honestly didn't care about any of these characters, so I stopped reading.
