Ring. Its the bell. Ash and Benait were already in their seats before the bell. The moment the bell rang Benait had opened the book and began to read. Ash watched him in amazement as he read, she didn't think she would be able to reach the page he was on. She leaned closer to him hoping to see his page number but she couldn't see his page number. She moved closer again sitting on the edge of her chair, this time seeing the page number. It was page 4 he was on, seeing what page he was on was enough to make her fall off her chair. She began to glow bright red with embarrassment, luckily no one really noticed so she got up and moved to her chair. Mrs Syrren walked in and sat at her desk, she said nothing to the class. As Ash sat in her chair she still couldn't believe how someone could read that fast. Ash began to read the book, she was struggling to read as fast as Benait could and was missing out words. She slowed down a bit so she wasn't messing up.
Benait took a little break from reading as he had been reading for an hour. He looked around the room as he stretched and didn't realise that the classroom was so empty. When he first came into the class he only looked at the people and not the objects in the room. As he continued to look around the room he realised that there was nothing on the walls like there was in his old school. He looked at Ash and wondered what page she was on, he didn't want to disturb her so he leaned forward slowly so she wouldn't notice. As he got closer he could see the page number. Once he got in the right position he finally saw the page number, she was on page 2. Benait didn't realise that he read so fast. He was on the last paragraph on page 4 and was about to go into page 5. He thought the speed of reading he did was quite slow compared to his Grandma's. Benait felt like he had an advantage, but it didn't stop him from using it, he began to read again but this time a bit faster so he could finish it and draw for the rest of the day.
Ash was slowly making her way through the book she wanted to stop but she knew it would take her forever to finish the rest of the pages. She let out a sigh, she was never going to finish the 6 pages let alone the whole book. Ash began to question herself. She knew she was never going to make it. She knew she should have listened to her family, but then she wouldn't have met Benait. Ash stopped herself from thinking about the negatives and began thinking about all the positive stuff.
Benait looked around He noticed no one was finished or looked finished. He felt like he had nothing to do now because he finished reading the pages. He didn't know what to do after finishing the pages, so he did what he knows best he closed the book and opened the drawing app. He began to draw an outline sketch of a wolf. He proceeded to draw the wolf as it was a sign of what he saw as strength.
Ash saw what Benait was drawing and thought he just gave up on reading, she thought of that as a handicap and began to read a bit faster. She finally reached page 5 but it was already too late. Ring. It was the bell signalling it was the end of school. Ash began to hate life again. She hadn't finished the last pages.
Mrs Syrren announced, "Everyone will read 2 more pages than they already have if anyone doesn't do that they will be punished."
Mrs Syrren dismissed the class. Ash and Benait began to head to their rooms, Ash's room was further away from Benait's. They reached Benait's room just after having a casual conversation about the book.
"Bye Ash, I'll see you tomorrow," Benait said waving to ash.
"Bye," she replied.
Ash headed to her room as fast as she could, she didn't want to be punished for being unable to read the pages and she didn't want anyone to see her with a tear in her eye.
