Theon had never been captivated by a scent before. The smell of Asher at first did nothing more than turn him away. He reeked of Shaw, assuming the first night he had probably just been bitten prior to seeing him.
Now that some time had passed Shaw faded and Asher showed through more. He smelt of fresh pine trees and cranberries. Feeling bad about pinning Asher against the door like he had, pretty sure that gave him a bad look.
Asher probably thought all alpha's were the same, cruel and took what they wanted without asking twice.
The entire time he ate he thought about what Asher had told him, his father selling him to save his own skin. Trading him without a care, thinking no wonder he clung to Shaw even with all the hate he had for him. He had no one else in his life.
Omega's already had it rough with people who stood behind them; supporting, but to be an omega and to be alone. Theon couldn't even imagine.
Then again he was getting a taste of it now. His deal with Shaw locking him up, making him do his bidding till he paid off his sister's debt. Still it was a choice he made to save his sister not one that was forced upon him.
Laying back on his bed, arms behind his head as he thought to himself. Maybe he could help Asher unable to explain where the need or want to help him came from but it didn't matter. All that mattered was that he tried.
Asher was confused by Theon's actions, why did he claim to care about him? They would have never crossed paths if his sister had never gotten in trouble. Knowing if they were out on the street on a normal day he wouldn't have thought twice about him, so why?
Theon was too good for a place like this as well. He wasn't the type to get involved with men like Shaw.
His heart raced as Theon stood over him, the heat from his body pulsing against his. Alpha's always seemed to run hotter than most. Using all of his will to keep himself from filling the small space that was left between them, he wanted to be held so badly.
Touching his chest, pushing him when he really wanted to grab his shirt and pull him in. His brain yelling at him the entire time. He couldn't do something like that to Shaw.
Shaw claimed him and that was that. His body and mind shouldn't want anything from anyone else but Shaw. The thought of just thinking about Theon in this manner ate at him, feeling like a bad omega for betraying Shaw like that.
Waiting till late before he went back to get the tray from Theon's room. Theon laid on the bed still very much awake but didn't move as Asher came back in, figuring he didn't want to talk or be seen after what happened earlier which is why he was sneaking in now and didn't come by at his usual time.
This caused Theon to think he really messed up. He shouldn't have pushed Asher to tell him anything. It wasn't his business to know. He already lived in a world that demanded everything from him so adding himself to that list wasn't any good.
* * * * *
Theon rubbing the back of his neck, "I'm sorry about the other day."
He had been pondering on what to say to Asher for a few days now.
"I shouldn't have made you tell me anything you didn't want to. . . nor should I have. . " Theon motioned with his hands to finish saying he didn't mean to push him against the door.
"It's just. . " He smirked, "You smell rather sweet, naturally."
His tongue running over his canine as he spoke.
Asher's cheeks growing hot, he smelt sweet?
"It's okay."
Shaw never apologized for anything that he did. In fact it was rare for alpha's to be apologetic.
"I actually feel a little better, haven't told anyone about my father being the reason I'm here."
Asher really kept to himself. Letting out the secret seemed to take some weight off his chest. By no means did it make anything better but it allowed him to breathe a bit more.
"And sweet?"
Asher was curious as to what Theon meant. Shaw never described his scent as sweet before, he just wanted to smell himself on him.
Smiling, "Yeah, sweet."
Theon taking a seat in one of the chairs around the table, the wood cracking at his weight.
"Like fresh pine trees and ripe cranberries." Theon unable to stop the laugh that left him.
"So my scent is funny?" Asher pouted as he looked at Theon.
"No!" He shook his head, his scent was soothing while yet enticing to him.
"Just find it funny that you would be the first omega that's caught me like that before." Theon being honest with his words.
Asher's eyes grew wider as he looked at Theon, surprised at his words and the simple fact that he could ever smell sweet to anyone after what Shaw had done. It caused his heart to pick up in pace but then settled back down just as quickly because he already knew that he was Shaw's and it was only time before he would mark him again and everything would go back to the way it was before. He would smell of Shaw and enrage anyone he crossed paths with.
"It won't last so don't get too excited." Comment Asher, down playing his feelings about catching Theon off guard with his scent.
If anything Shaw will be more inclined to bite him now.
"Maybe." Snarled Theon, "But I still know what's underneath."
This too got Asher to blush once more. Theon allowed him to feel special for a moment, to be admired for his own scent and not hated for Shaw's.
"Can I ask something?" Theon questioned.
"Yes."
"If there was a way out would you take it?"
Theon wanted to know if Asher could get out of this would he leave Shaw or has Shaw worked enough magic to truly bond him and keep him here.
"I don't allow myself to think of such foolery." Asher replied irritated at the question.
He didn't allow himself to think of anything crazy like that, having accepted his place here a long time ago.
Shaw wasn't just going to let him go and there wasn't anything that would change his mind about it. There also wasn't anywhere for him to go outside of the club.
No one wanted an omega that has been fucked over on all fronts, emotionally, mentally, and physically. He would suffer just as much out there as he did in here if not more. At least that's what he's come to make himself believe.
"If you could leave Shaw would you?"
Theon understood not allowing yourself of wonder of all the what if's of the world, rephrasing what he was trying to ask.
"I can't." He stated firmly, not looking at Theon.
He couldn't leave Shaw, simple as that.
"Speaking of Shaw, he wants to see me before my shift starts. . . "
Asher left without another word.
Theon finding a bright side to Asher's answer he said he couldn't not that he won't.
