It was around Dylan’s third month in school...no, no it was the third day. It felt similar to three whole months though, since Markus kept bothering him nonstop. It was pretty harmless teasing and bothering, and mostly just Markus anxiously trying to make conversation with Dylan but ending up reverting to insults. Dylan, however, saw this as the pinnacle of suffering. Who gave Markus a right to torment him? Nobody. He just wanted to be left alone, and not belittled by some incompetent, relentless swine.
Dylan was in his fourth period now, which was luckily lunch. He had decided to eat lunch in the halls now, so Markus wouldn’t be able to bother him for now. That was until this tiny girl came up to him and started shaking him. Oh, lovely. Jokes on her, he was already so incredibly done with Markus’ shit, he seemed virtually unbothered by this until she started speaking around a second in.
“Hey Dylan, right? Can you help me out real quick?”
She asked, barely catching Dylan’s attention as he continued to tentatively eat his Gogurt. This man was truly five years old at heart.
“...depends”
He said after swallowing down his grub. He was looking at her through his peripheral vision, already thinking of several different ways to avoid having to do anything.
“Great! Come on!”
She smiled so bright it gave Dylan a miniature headache. Before he had time to react, this tiny girl had hoisted him to his feet and was now dragging him by his arm off to a location unbeknownst to him. Perfect.
“Wait, Wha?- um, hold on-“
He tried objecting, seeming very confused on what was going on. It seems whatever he was trying to say couldn’t get through this girl’s thick skull as she’d already brought him to her destination. Oh great, the occult club.
“Damn. Forgot this place existed”
Dylan mumbles, reminiscing the times where he could just eat lunch in peace. Oh, the agony. The club took place in the old art room, but the teacher had quite two years ago from having too many kids draw dicks on the walls with all different kinds of medium and the school apparently hadn’t got the room cleaned yet. Plus, what teacher would want to work in a room where the wall is covered in genitalia? Gross.
The decorations of the occult club were just some tarot cards, old animal bones, purple and royal blue mood lights, and an ouija board- or as Dylan called them, Luigi boards. There were a few other members besides this small, dark haired girl.
“My names Amaryllis! Then there’s Diana, Violet, and Max!”
The small girl explained, pointing to the dimly lit figures when calling out their names. It was easier to see Diana and Violet, since not only were the two girls in the light, but Diana had a denim jacket over her uniform, as well as short pink hair. Violet just had on a pair of dorky and ironically violet colored glasses, as well as long black hair similar to Amaryllis.
Max on the other hand, stood in the corner of the room and out of the light. Dylan had to squint to look at him, and still couldn’t tell if he had black hair or dark brown hair. No way in hell he could make out the features of their face, not that it mattered. He was damn tall though, it was kind of cool and intimidating. Dylan’s analysis of the members was cut short when Amaryllis spoke again.
“We need another male member! That’s what the ouija board told us!”
She said, patting Dylan’s back before happily skipping into the room. Dylan was honestly very confused, and was almost counting on this all being some kind of elaborate joke.
“Umm...yeah no- I’m good”
He stuttered out, clearing his throat quietly as his throat was dry from him unconsciously leaving his mouth hanging open from just utter confusion. He almost jumped straight out of his skin when hearing Max grunt, timidly watching as the figure in the back pushed off the wall and walked up to Dylan. As the light shined on Max’s face finally, Dylan was...underwhelmed at best.
He was expecting them to look gruff and scary, but honestly at worst Max just looked tired. Actually, Max had a bit of a baby face, it made Dylan chuckle a bit, but he suppressed it quickly. Max stared dead into Dylan’s eyes with his own hazel ones.
“Just do what she asks. We’ll give you free food”
He offered quietly. Oh god, he even spoke softly. How cute could this guy get? Wait- what did he just think? Agh, damnit Dylan! Stop being a weird bisexual slut!
“...okay fine, but only for the free food”
He pouted softly, but couldn’t help the small smile growing on his face. Dylan was a big hypocrite in the fact that he hated when people- or, sorry, Markus teased him, but absolutely adored to tease and taunt others. Max was pretty obviously his next target.
