My Sister is Not a Princess

3 - The Parents Who Worked Hard

3 - The Parents Who Worked Hard

Aug 29, 2020

We are Sedgar, the father, and Sarie, the mother, we are the parents of Syro and Shalin. People have known us as the S-family, S stands for superior family, and S is our first name. It's a joke. Nonetheless, we'd like to keep it consistent. We have been happily married for years. People would also commend us for looking young. We were like a powerhouse couple. The husband would be the brains, and the wife would be the heart, together we have created a very impressionable family.

Long before, we lived as a lower to middle-class family. Our apartment was indeed small. We became very poor at some point. To the point of not eating anything to just let our children eat bread to survive. Before, even though Sedgar's family and relatives were rich after his father had died, he was left alone. Sedgar didn't receive any fortunes from his rich late father. Sarie's family situation also did not help. Sarie's parents were rich and hard workers but they also had a gambling addiction. Which led Sarie to suffer growing up without financial guidance.

We both met with the help of our friends. Kind of ironic how Sedgar was part of the SCOUT ROYAL BROTHER GANG and Sarie was part of the TAU GAMA PHI GANG, which was the 2 main fraternities and sorority. Sarie was even the typical hot bad chick while Sedgar was a nerd who's the leader of a metal band. When they got married, they both promised to give the best life for each other and their family. The couple worked so hard to the point of Sedgar having to work overseas, just to pay off the bills. Sarie worked alone as a single mother as well.

Until change happened, the father and mother worked not only hard but also smart. We made plenty of investments. We even moved to another country to start fresh. This is why we had a new reputation that we built. We are now successful, we have plenty of investments and businesses. However, looking back to the past we had plenty of shortcomings.

You must know we also have well-raised children, however, we feel like it's our fault as to why our daughter is overly perfect. Sarie has always wanted the best for her children however, she regrets her words. She remembers always reminding Shalin to raise her standards. Sarie feels bad, she just wants Shalin to be prepared for the cruel world. Sedgar on the other hand, partly pressured the kids, he only meant good for his children. The one lesson that he taught his kids, is to always aim to beat our success and become more successful. Sedgar wanted his children to achieve more than what he achieved. However, no matter what, we are still proud of our children. They grew up, we guess "perfectly", in our eyes of course.
