Today was the day.
The day Princess Mati II would save her people.
Her life purpose!
~
Mati 2 shall set of to sea to meet the sea deity.
Then, she shall become a princess of the sea.
~
Dressed to impress in fine, heavy layers of hemp and silk garments and chunky golden chains, this attire rendered her barely mobile, though travel she did. With her necessary entourage picking up the attire's slack, Mati walked down the promenade, or dock, treading on a runway of flower petals.
An emotional, generally belated crowd stood to her side, crying and cheering throughout the stretch of this walk.
Mati 2 reached the ledge, looking down upon a small, unbound rowing boat, akwardly, and with a lot of assistance, she stepped into the small rowing boat backwards. This boat served as a small throne in shallow water, yet gave a fantastic illusion of Mati 2 floating on water as the small vessels form was swllowed up by the decadent attire.
~
In union, the crowd held hands to prey, speaking low, words that couldn't be deciphered, as Mati 2 drifted out to sea. Drifted out on still water.
The crowd stopped their chanting in union, creating a complete silence, before in sync, they all inhaled loudly, then, they screamed!
This element of prayer was a distressed, shrill, racket of a bellow that caused even the expectant Princess to wince. Turning her head in the other direction, greatful that boat bought her more distance.
~
Distance indeed diluted the sound of the screaming gathering, though it looked as though the boat had sped up.
A single tear rolled down the Princesses face as she turned back and looked on at her shrinking people, a sob soon followed, then a small pair of streams before she openly cried.
Fortunately, nobody could see her, she didn't want to disappoint. Though distance and blurred vision prevented her from seeing clearly as an individual pushed their way through the screaming crowd and dived into the water.
Mati 2 soon spotted the small swaying arms frantically move towards her, growing and gaining better form, squinting to focus on the figure, she shook her head upon realisation
"Father.."
she sighed.
Though this dissapointment was but momentary, as an eerie, pained whaling emitted from below Mati 2, clarity muted by water but loud enough to drown out the background noise of the screaming crowd.
The crowd halted after the first prolonged groan, allowing only the sound from the waters to be heard when it next groaned. Accompanying this noise was a pounding at the bottom of the vessel, which morphed into a series of circular ripples that streamed from the base of her vessel.
Mati 2 tore her eyes away from the water and looked ahead of her, to her people, the now silent and restlessly scattering crowd. To her now nearby, terrified father who treaded water looking up at her.
Mati 2 awkwardly fidgited in her restrictive clothing, not able to progress anywhere had that been her intention.
Hopelessly, she soon sat still, looked ahead at her and awaited the worst.
~
The rings of ripples tampered off and faded around the 18ft away mark, just before Princess Mati 2 father, though Mati managed to catch an alteration as the rings appeared to maintain their form up to the radius, before abruptly halting at the edge instead of vanishing. Combining, this circle quickly thickening into a gelatinous looking band as more ripples joined it and increased its volume.
Thick to the point that Mati 2's father could have reaches out and touched, attempted to use it as a flotation device, if he dared.
Soon however, this odd phenomenon abruptly stopped.
~
After a moment, Mati 2's father indeed reached out to touch the fairly firm structure, yet upon making contact, the water within the ring took on a dark hue, fast losing clarity underneath Mati's boat.
This contained water, or oil as it now looked, then rapidly reduced, as if a plug had been pulled from a drain, causing Mati 2 to drop along with the surprisingly deep, blackhole.
