Noctave was writing a letter to Dia when Noxis hopped onto her desk. Her desk was cluttered with all manner of books and magical items, yet Noctave knew precisely where everything was. Or said she did.

Noxis was a small and sleek cat shaped void of darkness, a proper grimalkin, with his tail splitting into two halfway, four horns like crescent moons, and four yellow eyes that never dilated. There was a little bell tied around his neck in the shape of a human skull. Noctave turned off the the record player, as she knew he was there for a reason beyound wanting be petted

Noxis spoke to Noctave. "When are you going to tell her?"

Noctave titled her head, feigning ignorance. "Tell her what?"

His tail began to sway, expressing his annoyance.

"Don't you play me for a fool, Noctave. You know what I'm talking about."

Noctave took a deep breath. Noxis just wants to get under my skin, She reminded herself.

"She doesn't need to know right now. I'll tell her later, when we're further on with our relationship. If we get there."

Noxis glared at her. When will she stop dodging the question? he thought.

Noxis began to pace back and forth.

"Would Umbrum approve of your relationship with Dia?"

Noctave remained calm, but her tone was prickly. "It doesn't matter what he thinks, I like Dia and she likes me."

Noxis continued. "Umbrum and Cumulus don't particularly like each other. So don't expect Cumulus to like you, either."

Noctave growled and then yelled at Noxis "IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW HE FEELS ABOUT ME, I'LL STILL HAPPILY DATE HIS DAUGHTER!"

Noxis hissed and disappeared.

Noctave was surprised at how angry she got, but continued writing the letter.
