The door creaked open filling the entire room with its murderous resonance.

I wrapped the bed covers around my body and quivered till palpitation squeezed into my inner core.

A scream tried to escape from my lips but I gulped it down as the emperor's cold eyes gleamed at me from the doorway.

Just as I predicted, it really was him.

The warm light of the sun emitted through the long windows and shone against his handsome figure thus displaying the art of supreme elegance.

With his presence already frosting my heart, I jumped from the bed and dropped to my knees. My forehead touched the cold floor as I shouted out my pleads to him.

"Your majesty, I'm sorry for my careless behavior. Please don't hurt me. Please have mercy on me because I didn't pose any threat to you and I would never even dare to. Pplease don't hurrt. . . Your your punishment was ttoo too...," I couldn't find the words to finish what I was gonna say. Tears started to stinge my eyes and my temples throbbed with pain.

In this paralyzing moment, I was fighting with trepidation.

I couldn't imagine what the emperor would do to me. Would he take hold of me physically as before and inflict on me the greatest shame in my entire life through his evil lusty punishments?

It was the darkest nightmare sprouting despondently in my mind. Nothing else seemed to be more painful.

A shiver ran down my spine as I heard the sound of his footsteps getting closer. I could even hear the slight jingling sound of the exquisite jade knots tied around his belt.

Fear-fear of the dark fate once again clung onto me.

I needed a rescue mission for this turmoil. An EMERGENCY rescue mission to be clear. 

I prayed for someone to save me whether it be a shrine god or a guardian angel. I prayed disdainfully in my mind.

"Get up," the emperor's voice of doom demanded, thus interrupting my pure spiritual prayers.

He was standing in front of me and I could see the end of his extravagant hanfu trailing on the floor.

His gaze was analyzing me with so much intensity which made me shrink more and more into a powerless weakling.

I had to obey him no matter what happens because he was the almighty and I was the weak. I had to stand just as he commanded because I was an inferior being, nothing more.

My knees wobbled as I tried to stand. My left leg was cramped but I managed to steady myself.

When I was finally up on my feet, I could see that we were standing so close to each other. I could even feel his breath sweeping against my face. I already knew what'll happen if I kept standing like this. I didn't want a replay of those past events. No! That was not happening again! So I took the safe initiative to step away from him.

Unfortunately due to my bad luck, my feet were very unsteady--so as I tried to step away from him, I tripped on my foot. STUPID FOOT! Why was I so helpless! 

My knees gave up, first the cramped one, then the other, and I sank down.

Like out of a scene from some lame romance novel, he caught me in time before I could collapse onto the floor. This was too shameful and utterly humiliating. Ugg how did I even fall into this mess  .  .  . 

He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. While resting both of his hands on my back, he looked at me blankly without displaying any emotion in that cold face of his. But his dark eyes seemed to quiver a little. Without meeting his fiery gaze, I scanned him up and down.

He looked so supreme. A neat white hanfu that was adorned with gold trailed onto the floor. Jewels and jade rings clad over his fingers. He wore a thin white forehead ribbon that was embellished with a beautiful silver design. His skin was extremely fair like winter frost that he even looked like an immortal of ice and snow which was an image that matched well with his cold demeanor.

"What are you thinking?" he whispered into my ear adding shivers into my trembling body. "I think I know who you're thinking about," a dangerous smile played in his lips as they grazed against my earlobe.

With the dangerous smile still dancing over his lips, he pulled me from my waist in a rushed manner and pushed me onto the bed. Following his attack on my defeated self, he slowly crawled onto the bed and hunched over me. He lay on top of me with both of his hands resting on either side of my body. I was pinned onto the bed without any strength to break free.

This position was deja vu. Bushes, grass, peach blossoms, forceful motions, intertwined tongues-it all came back to me. The past events were being replayed. Once again, I was becoming the victim.

He lowered his face closer to mine. "Little fairy, I would never hurt you. Why would you even think that? And punishment? So, you thought that was punishment? Why are you so naive!" 

His stormy eyes which were glued to my face didn't blink once as if he was afraid that if he blinked once, I might try to run away. Both of us stared at each other's faces. We were too close, so close that I could even count his dark eyelashes. Cold sandalwood and the amorous fragrance of peach blossoms-two aromas intertwined amid our unnoticeable breaths.

"Marry me," he said without averting his gaze away from me. Sparks seemed to flash across his gaze while his breath grew deeper and deeper. 

My heart took a leap as he said those words. My body turned into ice and my blood ran cold with my heart beating faster and faster.

Seeing my defenseless state, he started to kiss my lips and bit hard making me whimper with a wince spreading across my face.

"Your hibiscus tinged lips will forever belong to me. Marry me and be mine," his voice felt so hot that it seemed like he would burst into an uncontrollable flame of infatuation at any moment.
