Later in the day.
Selma is arriving back home from her moms. The door to her apartment jiggles and then it opens. It’s Selma.
She puts down a bag of groceries on the kitchen table and then goes to another room to change.
She puts on her normal home clothes and gets a quick glance to her belly.
She rubs at gives the facial expression of curiosity. She’s probably thinking about how the baby is going or how the baby looks like.
She is then seen sitting down on her kitchen table with food cooking behind her. She’s cooking some soup in a big pot.
She pours herself a cup of water from the faucet and takes a sip but then is immediately disgusted.
Selma throws the water in the sink
She is just watching what’s on tv.

Announcer- Good afternoon America, Welcome to the citadel post offering show-
Selma looks at the clock- hmm.
Selma gets up to check the soup to see that it’s already done.
Selma then is seen on the phone calling someone.
The Phone- Hello.
Selma- Hey, Henry.
Henry- Hey Selma. Whats up?
Selma- I just wanted to call you to see if you were with Daniel ooorr if you knew he stayed late?
Henry- Oh… no, I haven’t seen him, he left before I got a chance to catch the train with him.
Selma- Really? because he hasn’t gotten home yet and Im starting to worry a bit.
Henry- Yeah… Yeah, no Im sorry.
Selma- It’s ok, thanks Henry.
Henry- Im sure he’ll get home soon- with the rain people are backing up the train system. Im still stuck myself.
Selma- Ok Henry, Stay safe out there.
Henry- Thanks Selma, Ill see you, Ok
Selma- Ok bye.
Henry- Bye.
Selma hangs up, she looks like she is visibly scared. She has already assumed the worst but she tries to shake it off and she’s just being paranoid. She goes out to check the hallway.
She peaks her head and looks in both directions of the hallways of her apartment.
She goes back and sits back at the table and looks at the old school digital clock set above the kitchen counter. It reads 6:33.
Selma sighs.
She begins to cough causing so she gets up to get more water to drink from the faucet but it taste bad again but she drank it anyway to get rid of the cough.
She looks back at the clock and realizes that it says 7:33.
As quick as she can, she runs to the her room and gets a luggage bag ready.
She throws in clothes and a picture of Daniel and Selma on their first date. She grabs her head in pain.
She runs back to the kitchen and reads the clock one last time and it reads 9:33.
She peaks her head out of the door with luggage in her hand. She begins to briskly walk down the apartment hallways. She takes the elevator downstairs.
On her way down a tall, sunken eyed man dressed in a suit with a hat on enters the elevator with her.
He enters
Elevator Man- Hello.
Selma says nothing at first because she is jumpy. Then she snaps out of it.
Selma-… Hello
They both stand there waiting for their floor.
Elevator Man- You’re here a little bit to early don’t you think? Never mind, don’t answer that, there’s no substance to that question.
Selma becomes scared because this random man begins talking to her.
Selma- What… what do you mean? Do you live here?
Elevator Man- I’m afraid as it is, your conclusion hasn’t reached a point of closure… a closure that anyone will be happy with.
Selma still doesn’t seem to get what this man is talking about.
Elevator Man- Then again I think your fate has been decided since the start of this story. You can see it coming over the hill and nothing is going to stop those relentless wheels of time.
He doesn’t look at Selma he just looks straight ahead but Selma turns to look at him. He is still as a statue.
Elevator Man- Nevertheless, allow me to impose a question on you. Do you know the value of the number three?
Selma- The number three?
Elevator Man- Yes, the number three.
The man just looks straight ahead.
Elevator Man- The consistency of the value is something that is inescapable. I want you to try and understand it.
Selma- Who are you?
The man turns his head in a sharp jerky motion to look at selma. He looks at Selma with eyes that look like two craters where eyes are suppose to be at.
Elevator Man- Sorry. That’s right I never introduced myself…
He turns his head in the same motion to look forwards.
Elevator Man- But maybe we should keep it that way.
Selma-…
Elevator Man- Well this is my exit. Before I go, do not try to exacerbate your illness. I’ll see you, when our paths inevitably cross again.
When the man gets off the elevator she lets out a big gasp of air because she thought that man was a possible government agent.
Selma notices that the elevator was going the wrong way the whole time. Instead of going down it was going up.
Selma looks at the elevator floor with a confusion and begins to cough again and grabs her head in pain.
