It had been a few days since the last time Theon had spoken too or even saw Asher he no longer came to his room anymore. Another female omega took his place.
Theon of course asked what had changed or if anything happened to Asher but he didn't get a single word in response from her.
A heavy sense of uneasiness took over Theon in those few days. Not able to get any information from anyone he came in contact with.
Theon even went as far as asking to speak with Shaw himself but even that failed him until now, finding himself in his office on the upper level.
This the first time he's come up from the bottom level since he first came here for his sister.
"You requested to see me." Theon spoke first, looking back at Shaw.
"That I did."
Shaw leaning up in his chair sighing, "I'm curious as to how dumb do you think me to be?" He paused, "This is my place of business after all so it would make sense that I know everything that goes on within its walls right?"
"I guess that's fair to say."
Theon not changing his expression or giving anything away in his behavior, playing as if he didn't know what Shaw was hinting at.
"So we're going to play it like that then." Shaw glanced to his goon at the door giving him a signal with his hand.
"Why don't we have Asher shed some light on things then."
Shaw got up from his seat, moving to the front of his desk where he leaned on the corner crossing his arms over his chest.
Theon shifted in his seat as the goon dragged Asher in and by dragged he meant dragged. He was clearly under the influence of something, not even able to hold his own head up.
The room was spinning, Asher could barely keep his eyes open and when he was able to open them everything was blurred out past the point of recognition.
The goon tossing him up against Shaw's desk. Body slumped over in front of Theon who lunged forward but was held back by two heavy hands pressing down on his shoulders.
"I'd sit if you don't want to be next." Stated another goon, motioning to the syringe he held between his fingers, ready to jab him in the neck at any second.
"What did you do to him?" Demanded Theon.
"Nothing he's not used to." Shaw smirked, leaning down tapping Asher on the cheek with the back of his hand to wake him up more.
His eyes fluttering a few times, leaning his head back against the desk to keep himself from slumping over again. A few mumbles leaving his lips but nothing make able from it.
"Maybe we overdid it this time." Laughed Shaw, looking up at his goons. "He has lost some weight since the last time."
Shaw shrugging his shoulders, not concerned about the obvious overdose.
"So let me ask again how stupid do you think me to be?"
"Never claimed you to be stupid." Growled Theon.
His blood was racing through him. Wondering how Shaw found out about them, not wanting to believe Asher would just offer up information like that to him freely.
His eyes narrowing, knowing Shaw could have forced it out of him if he had suspensions.
"You must still think I am to some extent. Assuming you could steal one of my most valuable items from me."
Item in this case meaning Asher.
"He's not some item you can control or some property that can be traded or sold off."
Theon didn't see Asher as anything demeaning like that, he was a being with feelings and power to make his own choices.
This got Shaw to laugh even harder, "Maybe you're the one that I should be questioning as stupid."
Shaw clearly felt he owned and controlled Asher to his will and his will only.
The sound of voices around Asher started to come in more, attempting to speak up again but just mumbles.
Theon pulled forward in his seat once more getting just as much resistance from the goon as the first time.
"If it's not clear to you I'm quite aware of what's been going on between the two of you and to be honest I never expected such betrayal from him. And the balls on you to go along when you're in debt to me." Eyes glancing to Asher.
"It was rather daring of him really. I was impressed when it was brought to my attention. But still, it's not right for one's mate to run off on their alpha like that especially after all I've done for him. It really upset me."
Shaw's expression showing false emotions of hurt and anger.
"You have no right to call yourself his alpha." Growled Theon, pulling harder.
"No true alpha would have to break the law to get an omega on their side as you have. Marking him against his will. No true alpha would treat their omega in the manner that you do."
Theon could go on and on about how Shaw treats Asher but he stopped himself knowing his point was made. That anger and frustration could be read all over his face.
"Sounds like there's a true connection here, doesn't it." Comments Shaw looking to his goons once again. "I'm touched, really. However, it doesn't change anything."
He sighed, "Just . . I'm torn as to how to handle this. It's my first time being caught in a triangle like this."
Shaw pushed himself up from the desk standing tall over Theon, "Or maybe I should make it a square."
"Don't even think about bringing Zac into this." Theon having it completely at that point. Rolling his shoulders and knocking the grip loose of the goon that was holding him down standing up face Shaw, eye to eye.
Shaw motioned with his hand for them to not move, the goons holding place for the time.
"He's already in this if you really think about it. Zac had a second claim to Asher in my book. We just haven't come to a mutual agreement over him yet."
"The. . heon. . " Mumbled Asher, reaching out with a shaky hand grabbing the closest figure to him, which just so happened to be Shaw who shook him off.
"Fuck your claim and his." Theon, looking down at Shaw, taking in a hard breath.
"What's he worth to you really?"
The distaste that formed in his mouth as he asked for his worth.
"Oh, he's worth more than you could ever afford. I mean really this right here is only causing his value to go up."
Shaw smirked, leaning back against his desk once again. Theon taking a breath trying to calm himself so he could think and not act on emotions.
"Why, really thinking of putting in a bid for him?" Shaw arching his eyebrow.
"A bid?"
"Of course, I'm working on a deal with Zac, maybe there is a better one that could be made with you."
Theon didn't like where this conversation was going. The idea of placing in some bid for Asher, buying him just as Shaw had in the past. It wasn't right.
"Or maybe I should just continue with my original plan." Shaw pausing looking down at Asher. "Pimp him out to the highest bid, if and when his heat comes."
Shaw was quite fond of that plan, actually.
Selling omega's who were in heat had a good market since live births were in high demand now that the national birth rates have dropped over the past years. Even more in demand in the underground realm if the omega was still untouched and or experiencing their first heat.
Theon lunged forward, gripped tight onto Shaw's collar, yanking him up from his resting position, "You make me sick." Theon growled, pushing out some of his scent to ward off anyone that dared to get near him.
The thought of Asher being sold off to be raped and breaded to another's own desires turned his stomach. To have that be Asher's first experience in a heat or ever.
It took three goons to pull Theon away. Shaw playing just as cool as ever not flinching at Theon's out break towards him. However he wasn't as cool as he appeared on the inside his head had started to pound from the scent he put out, bringing some concern to Shaw.
Two holding Theon back while the third let off, injection in hand, just waiting for Shaw's say.
"I really do want what's best for him, and by best I mean what makes me the most money." Shaw laughed, adjusting his collar.
"Perhaps my mind could be persuaded to something else"
"Like what?"
"Like maybe the ultimate fight."
A high stakes no holds bard kind of fight.
"You and let's say Zac, in a match where two enter only one leaves."
"A fight to the death." Theon shaking his head, "No."
He already had so much guilt in him from just fighting for his sister. Taking a life wasn't something he could ever do.
"So Asher isn't worth it to you then." Shaw leaning down pulling Asher by his hair to his feet.
Asher groaned as he was pulled up, his body numb and cold.
"I guess it's selling his heat then." Shaw letting his grip go.
Asher falling lifelessly to the ground before getting picked up by a goon who slung him over his shoulder.
"I was really hoping to strike a deal with you."
Shaw brushes his hands off as if to clean himself of Asher's scent.
"Fine." Theon let out with a sigh. "Just don't hurt him anymore."
Theon relaxing, no longer pulling against the goons who were holding him back.
"If I agree to this fight, Asher won't be harmed anymore. No more marking, no more drugs, no more torment from you. It's just the one fight and that's it. I win, we both leave here no strings attached, no fine print loop holes."
Theon looked Shaw dead in the eye as he spoke, knowing he was signing his soul away agreeing to murder another man. Even if it was for someone he truly cared about.
Shaw not saying anything for a long moment.
"You still have one fight left on your current debt so till then Asher is still mine. After and only after will he be off limits." Shaw is not willing to budge on this. "And only if he's heat doesn't come first. If that happens then my hands are tied."
Theon growling, Shaw was trying to play him.
"No deal, unless he's off limits now, heat or no heat." Theon wasn't going to play the odds. "And after my debt is paid I get to leave with a promise to return for the final fight."
"How about we compromise, off limits after your fight on Friday which is only the day after tomorrow so how much trouble could I really cause in that amount of time." Pausing, "If his heat actually comes between now and your final fight I'll be generous and let you have him to handle, but he stays here working the floor as normal."
Shaw really didn't need an omega in heat on his hands with all the alphas he had in the building at this time. Smirking at the thought of Theon fighting off anyone that came close to Asher while he was in heat.
"That's the best offer you're going to get, Theon. I would take it."
"Fine." Theon growled, "We have a deal."
"Perfect." Shaw spoke a bit too happy for Theon's liking.
"Let Zac know he has a treat waiting for him." Shaw speaking to the goon that had Asher over his shoulder.
Theon knew Shaw had something up his sleeve. Letting Zac finally get at Asher, springing forward towards Shaw across the desk, feeling a pinch in the side of his neck and it was lights out for him.
