In the middle of class, I felt a light stab and inhaled before seeing what was written. I frowned when I saw it was a time, but quickly wrote it down. I grabbed my pen from my pencil case and replied.
"??"
"Its the time... here.. I hope that's okay?"
"yeah no of course it is but why are you sending me it?"
"wait youre in class, right? shoot, tell me when class is over and I'll say then. I'd hate to distract you."
"okay.."
"Dude," I jumped a bit when Alex whispered in my ear. "you gotta clarify you're a girl to 'em." I purely nodded.
"You gotta come with me to ask SS something, though."
"No problem."

"Mr. Fales?" my social studies teacher looked up from his computer.
"Alex, Callie, what's up?"
"Uh, let's say that I have an internet friend, and I have around what time it would be for them, but I'm not sure where it would be that time. could you help me?"
"Well, I won't mention the dangers of an online friend, but yes, I will help you. what time did they say?"
"They said it was 14:32, and this was during last hour."
"well, change it from army time and its 2:32pm, and this was during last period, so I'd have to say the UK, or around there."
"Thank you so much, Mr. Fales." I said and grabbed Alex's arm to drag her out of the classroom.
The lunch bell rang and we left to our shared locker to grab our lunches, then went to our usual spot outside under a tree. I pulled a pen out of my school jacket (an optional addition to the uniform) pocket and rolled up my sleeve.
"Can I..?" Alex asked. I nodded. She scooted closer so she was right next to me on my right side. I wrote one question.
"UK?"
"Yes. You?" I released a breath.
"Tell her where exactly because its so big." Alex whispered to me.
"USA. Arizona."
"London."
"Wow. We're so far."
"Yeah..." It disappeared, and before I could think of a reply, "Can I ask something?"
"Sure, go ahead." I looked at Alice with a brow raised. She shrugged.
"What's your name?" appeared on my arm.
"Oh." I said out loud. "Wait, do I tell her? Because what if she does think I'm a guy and is disappointed or stops replying to me or--" Alex put her palm on my mouth, silencing me.
"You wouldn't be soulmates if you weren't meant to be. Go ahead and tell her."
"Okay..." I took a deep breath before writing. "Callie, Callie Taylor.." I watched as it disappeared and was about to ask hers when she replied.
"What? That's... That's a girl's name though..." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before writing,
"Yeah, that's because I'm a girl..."
"I.. I gotta go" and then she was gone. I hit my head against the wall I was sitting against.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it. She totally thought I was a boy. Damn it." I sat with my eyes closed, and asked Alex, "What am I going to do now? I don't even know her damn name while she knows mine."
