Mark looked at the transformed new man in front of him and he couldn't help but feel that he had been cheated somehow.
The beggar's current bearing was that of an emperor. Someone who viewed the common masses as nothing more than dirt. That's what Mark Stewart felt when he locked eyes with the beggar. He couldn't explain how he arrived at that conclusion...he attributed it to his gut feeling.
'Surely, this can't be the man who passed out while reciting the rosary.' thought Mark. He had seen his fair share of despicable people in his life to know one when he met them.
Mark was starting to think that he was jumping to conclusions too fast.
Surely, a man reciting the rosary to the point he passed out couldn't be that bad, could he?
Azel who was reading Mark's thoughts then heaved a sigh of relief, 'This man is dangerous. He could see through me just by looking into my eyes. He's on the first steps of sainthood to be able to pull off something like that. I must cripple his mind before he gets there.'
Many ways of pulling Mark into a depraved state passed through Azel's mind and he couldn't wait to try them one after the other.
Azel then said to Mark, "I feel it presumptuous of me to ask such a thing when you've already helped me and I also feel that I couldn't be more indebted to you than I already am so...is it possible for me to earn my keep by working here?"
Mark nodded, " Of course, you do not have to worry about anything. The kids here are a handful so we're always on the lookout of for able hands to help us keep things in order here. Let's see...you can help the cleaning staff. There's also work to be done outside. The lawn must mowed every now and then. For now you're on probation for a few weeks, after that you'll receive your own salary. As of now you have a place to sleep and your three meals are covered. How does that sound, young man?"
Azel looked like he was overjoyed as he said, " Thank you. Thank you Sir Mark. I couldn't have imagined better conditions."
"You haven't told me your name..."Mark asked.
"It's Azel, Sir Mark." Azel said. He was a low level demon so giving his true name to a human wasn't that dangerous. It's not like he was a famous demon or anything. The chances of being banished back to hell because an exorcist used the power of his name were nonexistent. Besides, why would he feel the need to lie to mere sacks of meat with fickle minds and weak bodies. He was a far superior being after all.
"Azel? It's not a local name. Where do you hail from?" Mark asked, curious. It was such an uncommon name, after all.
"I come from a foreign land. I've only been in this country for a few years...just long enough to learn the local language." Azel said.
"You have me fooled. You speak our language so well that I thought you were a native." Mark said.
Azel then thought, 'Best to steer the conversation away from my origins. As reluctant as I am to lie to this sack of meat, it is best to not be asked the most sensible questions, or else my intentions will be known.' He said, "I'd like to know this place better. Can someone show me around?"
"Of course." Said Mark not minding the fact that Azel changed the course of the conversation.
Coincidentally a young nun was passing by. The look she gave Mark was one of adoration ...perhaps adulation.
That look didn't escape Azel, ' The Lightbringer is helping me. Things couldn't be this easy, could they?"
"Ah Sister Martha." Mark said.
"How can I be of help Mr Stewart?" Sister Martha said.
"This is Azel. Our new helper. He'd like to know the place. Can you show him around?" Mark said.
"Sure thing Mr Stewart." She said as she looked at Azel.
As Azel started reading the young nurse's thoughts and memories, he was thinking of the best way to plant a seed in her mind. The seed that would turn her into a slut ready to please Mark at all costs even if force had to be used.
Azel couldn't wait to see what the future had in store for these two.
