The first rays of sunlight lit up the Prison compound.
The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in.
The artistic golden sun rose up painting the dark black sky into a bright blue sky, proving to the world that the light will always overcome the darkness.
Today is the day! Finally!
Rizi was wide awake since 5 am enjoying the first rays of the sun.
Basking in the early morning warmth of the sun, she was feeling light-hearted. Finally, she will be released from prison.
It's been 6 months.
She caressed her baby bump lovingly.
"Good morning baby. Isn't it a beautiful day! Finally, we will be out of here and mama can take care of you properly. I promise you I will never let you suffer anymore."
Rizi had a bad case of morning sickness and she started having health issues from the 11th week of her pregnancy. She lost lot of weight. Jason ensured that she gets proper medical care inside prison until court procedures are complete.
Jason ensured Rizi that he will get the best lawyer to handle her case. True to his words, He did so. Sara Williams, Pereira Corporation's legal attorney, was handling her case.
Initially, Sara denied taking her case as it was against Bennetti Group.
Both Pereira Corporation and Bennetti Group are powerful companies and not to mention Nouveau riche.
She wanted to tread water carefully.
But after meeting Rizi in person Sara immediately agreed to help.
She felt a deep connection with Rizi, which she was not able to explain. It's like a natural instinct to help and protect her.
Bennetti's legal representative dint made it easy for them. But Sara being one of the best criminal defense attorneys in the city handled everything with ease.
Over the past 4 months, she helped Rizi deal with all dirt that was thrown towards her by the opposite counsel. Opposite counsel was hell-bent to keep Rizi in prison to complete her sentence.
However, neither Zain Bennetti nor his PA participated in any kind of discussion.
Sara promised Rizi that she will do everything in her power to bring her out of prison.
After 4 months of trials, Sara Williams, true to her promise, was successful.
Using 'consent' as a defense mechanism she successfully proved that the defendant dint commits any crime technically as the victim actually consented to the act.
As Rizi was a general secretary to Bennetti Group; Jason pulled some strings and submitted proofs in front of the judges on past dealings done by Rizi on behalf of Bennetti Group.
The judges were convinced. Rizi's release was approved, but on condition that she must appear in court whenever summoned for the next 2 years.
Rizi walked through the prison corridor and taking a last glance at everything.
Her misery.
her pain.
her disparity.
She will never forget those who pushed her into this hell hole.
"Zain Benneti and Sussana Cruz. You will get your retribution sooner or later."
But right now she want to prepare for her baby's arrival. Everything else can wait.
"I am really very happy for you Riz. I hope you will, take care of yourself out there." exclaimed Abby. Her cellmate of the past 6 months who was there with her helping her and comforting her in every possible way.
"Thank you, Abby. Your sentence will end in the next 4 months. When you will be out, please reach out to me for anything. I will be always there for you. Okay?"
Abby nodded and gave a brief hug to Rizi.
With slightly moist eyes, she motioned her to go towards the exit door where Warden was waiting for her.
Warden handed her all belongings and spare clothes to change into.
"Take care girl. Don't let other people take advantage of you in the future. Always stay sharp and be prepared for the worst. I wish you a good life girl."
Rizi smiled "Thank you Ms. Smith for your caring words and helping me here in the last 6 months. Thank you for everything."
Rizi took her belonging, quickly changed into a comfortable, loose floral pink dress. She wore her mother's pendant. Caressing it lightly, she went out of the prison.
Stepping outside the prison gate, she felt as if she was reborn.
Taking a deep breath, she made her way towards the two people who were waiting for her and has been her lifeline and source of comfort in the past couple of months.
Jason and Sara were waiting for her outside. Jason was dressed up in casual wear with a white shirt and denim which made him look like a college boy next door. The total opposite of straight-faced aloof ruthless businessman.
On the other hand, Sara was dressed up in a yellow knee-length summer dress and her auburn hair tied in a messy bun. Her hazel eyes twinkling and with a vibrant and cheerful smile she walked towards Rizi.
Seeing Rizi came out, with one hand on her swollen belly and the other hand holding some of her belongings, Sara increased her footsteps to reach out to her and quickly embraced her.
"Thank god. What took you so long? I was waiting here for quite some time."
Jason rolled his eye annoyingly "you are squishing her baby. Be careful."
He slightly pushed Sara like annoyed little kid who's favourite toy was stolen and pulled Rizi into his arms.
"I am so happy Zi. Finally! Let's go home and celebrate. Have told the housekeeper to cook all your favorite dishes. Also, we have a scheduled appointment tomorrow with the doctor for your and baby's checkup."
Getting pushed by Jason. Sara turned around and shot daggers at him.
"You jealous prick!"
Rizi chuckled. She was grateful to both of them. They stood by her and provided her much needed warmth and love to deal with the mess.
She looked at both of them with her misty eyes "Thank you so much, J".
She turned to Sara "Thank you, Sara. I don't know what would have happened to me without you guys. I can't imagine staying in there for 2 more years. I don't know what would have happened to me and my baby!"
Sara and Jason both squeezed her arm. Jason took Rizi's belonging and put them in the trunk.
Three of them hopped into Jason's Bentley Continental GT V8 convertible and drove towards the Trinity Residential Villa in City center where a delicious meal awaits.
