The Forsaken Child

Mana Core

Mana Core

Sep 12, 2020

As I woke up the next day I felt terribly ill and I didn't know why but I started to cry instinctively. Surprisingly I saw Ed coming into my room. I guess he came home already from his quest. He started to feel my forehead then looked worried. He put me down and went to call master. Once he came he looked at me with strange eyes. They looked like they were glowing some kind of golden color. I was starting to get scared now, what exactly was wrong with me? Then all out of nowhere the master started to yell in excitement. It scared me so I started to cry even louder.

Ed started he said “ What's wrong master is he ok”

Master just looked at Ed wide-eyed

“He's starting to form a magic core Ed, a MAGIC CORE”

“How has he managed to do that this early master?

“How am I supposed to know”

Ed was surprised his master didn’t know. He was respected throughout the kingdom because of his magical prowess.

I stopped crying and looked at the men talking. It felt like it was a long time because I started falling asleep but then I heard them say “form magic core”. Wasn’t I trying to do that yesterday, but nothing happened. Now that I think about it, it was normal for people to start to form their cores around 7 or 8 and to fully awaken their core is around 9 and 10 and I started when I wasn’t even one year old yet.

I guess I am a genius, while I was smirking I heard master say something that made him and Ed a bit sad.

“Ed he’s a dual mage”

“How can he be lucky and unlucky at the same time,” Ed said while letting out a loud sigh.

“Don’t worry Ed I will try my best to train him to be a strong mage” Said master as he smacked Ed in the back.

“I’ll try hard to master,” Ed said, smiling at Henry.

When I heard I was a dual mage I felt like I was vulnerable. Don’t get me wrong it was good because I could do both paths of magic but, Being a dual mage meant that you’ll have to try harder than anyone else since you have to work on two paths, not just one. But when I heard them say they’ll train me all my worries got sent flying away
