Zephyr's Headquarters—1:49 P.M.
Walking through the hallways of the headquarters, Ryan reached the weapon's lab.
As he reached towards the door of the lab, he noticed that the door was locked.
"Ah...? Emily's not back yet?"
Ryan sighed as he turned to look at his left and right, seeing that there wasn't anyone in the vicinity, Ryan could only helplessly walk away from the door.
"Sigh... Looks like I'll have to head out to Sector 8 without my weapon..."
Shaking his head in disappointment, he began making his way over to the lobby.
Although Ryan could make a weapon out of ice with his power, Glacial Control. He tends to stray from it, as the ice isn't powerful enough to withstand a force of collision between objects as per a normal weapon could withstand. Because of that, the ice tends to break easily.
Thuck Thuck Thuck...
As Ryan made his way towards the lobby area, his eyes gazed over towards the living area of the headquarters, noticing that a black-haired man was dozing off into slumber on the couch with piles of paper on the coffee table.
"C-Crow...?"
Hurriedly heading towards the couch, Ryan slowly poked Crow's shoulder as he tried to wake him up.
"Uh... Crow... I don't think it's a good time to be dozing off right now..."
"..." Crow continued to doze off.
"Crow...?"
A moment of silence prevailed the room. Then after a few seconds, Ryan heard Crow spoke suddenly.
"Ugh... Did you freaking had to wake me up from my short nap?" Crow cursed.
"Ah...? Sorry. I didn't know you were taking a short nap... I had thought you might have passed out..."
"Tsk... I didn't alright? So you don't have to worry. if you want to help me then you should have Sarah and Eric shut the hell up every damn morning so I can sleep in more."
"Well, I don't think that's possible even if I ask them to..." Ryan let out a cough.
"Bah, useless." Crow clicked his tongue, as he grabbed the sheets of paper on the coffee table and looked through it.
"Ahem... Anyways, you should really take a break from going on so much night missions, Crow... Your eyebags are growing darker by the day."
"A break? Hah, if only! Do you see the amount of damn paperwork that Velvet and Luke left me to do?"
"I can see that..."
"Yeah? This shitty task is the very bane of my existence that literally prevents me from sleeping. How I wish I could just tear these damn paper apart and give zero shits."
"Aha... What's the paperwork anyway?"
"Profiles of people who roam around the night and doing who knows what. I'm forced to deal with the reports when in the first place, Velvet should be doing them."
"What's Velvet doing anyway?"
"Oh, you know the usual. Slacking off, going out and then coming back drunk, oh let's not forget, frowning over men."
"Aha..."
"Anyhow, don't you have anything else to do besides bothering me?"
"Ah right, I should head to the lobby. Well then, I'll be taking leave then."
"Shoo shoo, let me work in peace."
...
Sector 6, Downtown Bris—2:06 P.M.
As Ryan headed out of the headquarters, he walked over towards the parking lot as he saw Eric leaning over towards a black-steel motorbike.
"Damn, took you long enough." Seeing Ryan walking towards him, Eric clicked his tongue.
"Sorry about that, anyway, are we going on this?" Ryan pointed over towards the bike that Eric was leaning on.
"Yeah, get on," Eric said as he threw a midnight blue helmet over towards Ryan.
Grabbing onto the helmet, Ryan quickly put it on as he got on the bike from behind.
Immediately after, Eric shifted into gear as he rode the bike out of the lot as he drove it towards the streets, quickly heading towards Sector 8.
...
Riding along the streets of Bris, Eric rode the bike as they passed through the borders of Sector 6 as they entered into Sector 8.
Entering into Sector 8, Ryan took a glance over the area as he noticed that they were a lot lesser people on the streets compared to Bris. Unlike the bustling streets of Sector 6, within Sector 8, the sector was a whole lot quieter. The people distance themselves from each other on the streets, glaring at one another as they passed each other.
"Tch..." Ryan clicked his tongue as he looked over the lifeless streets.
Unlike the bustling streets from one through seven, the latter numbers of the spectrum, the people living here would tend to be within poverty or living on ends meet. At times, they would need to stay on high alert, as who knows when they might suddenly get attacked by people higher than them to let off steam?
This was the reality of Citadel. A place where power rules all, the authorities turn a blind eye to the people as they suffer under the hands of others. This was especially true for sector 8, a district ruled by groups outside of the jurisdiction of authorities.
Noticing that Ryan clicked his tongue, Eric opened his mouth, "Ugh, you should stop bothering to look at this place, it's infuriating to see it in a state like this. Instead, why don't you tell me the plan for the mission?"
"What? Since when were you so keen on listening to our plans during missions?"
"Well since Zeke gave me a warning."
"Pfft..." Ryan laughed, "Well since we're going to be patrolling around Wyvern Street, let's check the premise first."
"Right, right. Then I'll ride to the nearest route headed for Wyvern then."
Eric tightly clutched onto the handles of the bike as he fastened the acceleration of the motorcycle, quickly turning towards the next block of the street, reaching the area near Wyvern Street.
As Eric continued to ride along the street, he abruptly stopped the bike as a group of people approach him and Ryan.
