When Karah got to class she took her seat and opened a blank notebook. Then she realized that a boy was staring at her. He quickly turned around when he noticed that she had seen. Karah was a bit confused. Ashley got to her class and took her seat. She realized that she knew no one in her class. Ashley and Karah were best friends who only cared about each other but they knew quite a few people at school. Ashley was a little disappointed. She worried about group projects. Who was she going to pair with? She was scared. When lunchtime came Karah and Ashley sat next to each other. Karah told Ashley about the mystery boy who had stared at her in class. Ashley was a bit confused, but so was Karah. Karah said “Ash, do you think he likes me? He’s kinda cute.” As she blushed. Ashley was a bit worried. “Karah I wouldn’t jump to conclusions if I were you.” After lunch, they went back to class. As time passed Karah got even more curious about the boy. When school was over Karah and Ashley walked home together. Karah told Ashley “I think I’m gonna ask him out.” Ashley was very surprised, the shy and quiet girl she had always known was growing up. Ashley said, “If you believe that is the best way to go about this then, I’ll agree.” Karah was worried, what if he didn’t like her and was just weirded out by how short she was. Karah didn’t know if this was a good idea. So Karah told Ashley “Yea I think you’re right, I’m not gonna ask him out.” Ashley was a bit relieved. As they walked home together they both had been thinking about the mystery boy. Why was he staring at Karah? Neither of them knew the answer to this question. So they continued walking as if nothing was different. Karah and Ashley lived right across from each other. So Ashley always waited for Karah to go inside so she could go inside. Karah ate dinner then went to do her homework in her bedroom, but she couldn’t focus. All she could think about was that boy. “UGH WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME!” Karah yelled. Karah stayed up all night trying to focus on the homework she just couldn’t. When she finally passed out it was 3 in the morning. Karah woke up 3 hours later to get ready for school. She showered, brushed her teeth, ate breakfast, went to Ashley's house to walk with her to school. Though she could only think about the boy. Ashley opened her door and saw how exhausted Karah looked. “What's wrong Karah?” Ashley asked, Karah yawned and said “Let's just go.” Ashley knew what was wrong, but Ashley knew that Karah would want to deal with this by herself. They walked to school, neither spoke a word. Karah went to her locker and took her stuff for her classes, then slowly began walking to her class. She took her seat and looked to see if the boy was there yet. He was staring at her again. Karah was surprised. He was staring, he didn’t turn around this time. He began to blush, he waved at Karah, Karah waved back with a smile. The teacher walked into the room and took attendance. “Karah Jay” Said Miss. Keppy “Here” said Karah. When the teacher finished taking attendance she started to call students up to hand in their homework. Karah was extremely nervous. When the teacher called Karah’s name, Karah stood up and said “I apologize Miss. Keppy, but I could not finish my homework last night.” Miss. Keppy said, “Very well lunch detention.” Karah nodded and sat down embarrassed and disappointed. Miss. Keppy called “Kade Allen” Kade stood up and said, “I did not finish my homework either.” Miss. Keppy said, “Lunch detention for you as well.” Karah was relieved she was not the only one with lunch detention, Then she realized that the mystery boy was Kade. When class was over, Karah began to walk towards the lunch detention room with her homework in her hand. Ashley was walking down the hall and saw Karah, “Come on let's go to lunch. What are you doing?” Karah frowned and said “I have lunch detention. I didn’t finish my homework last night.” Ashley saw how sad Karah looked. “Hey, it’s okay. You’ll get your homework done, and I’ll eat in the library.” Karah looked at Ashley's smile and realized that everything would be okay. Karah continued walking to the lunch detention room. Ashley turned around and began to walk towards the library. Karah opened the door and walked in, she saw about 13 kids sitting quietly, doing their work. Karah walked to an empty desk and carefully pulled the seat out, and took her seat. The door slowly creaked open, with his homework in hand and a smile on his face, Kade walked into the room and took a seat next to Karah. Karah smiled and waved, Kade blushed and whispered “Hi” Ashley sat in the library reading a book.
