"Leave the group alone. Leave the baby alone especially." A firm voice said.
Sakura and Ren grin, seeing the doctor couple, Doctor Lance and Doctor Harrison.
The enemies backed away and ran off for now. Olin finally had a break from vomiting. The doctors approached
"Quickly, we must get this babe checked up," Doctor Lance said.
The group nods and hurries into the hospital, worried for Olin. The crew get to the testing room and enters.
Very carefully, Sakura placed Olin on one of the medical beds. Olin had started throwing up again.
Doctor Lance carefully took care of Olin and supported him as Doctor Harrison went to get everything set up for the testing.
Sakura, Ren and their crew stayed with Olin and Doctor Lance just in case they needed to be of assistance.
Doctor Harrison eventually returns.
"Everything's ready for Olin. We must carefully move him to the testing bed," he said.
Everyone nods. Doctor Lance picks Olin up very carefully, and everyone heads to the testing bed in a private room.
Olin was placed on the testing bed very carefully. Luckily, Olin stopped vomiting again. He was connected to the testing machine.
Knowing he wasn't well, the two doctors handled Olin with a lot of care. Sakura and Ren chatted quietly with Olin's uncles, who came.
The doctors were very gentle when they put Olin to sleep. Doctor Lance put on gloves and discarded the sick bag Olin was ill into. He then tossed the gloves and washed his hands briefly but well.
When Doctor Lance returned, Doctor Harrison had started the testing, keeping an eye on Olin.
"He's all hooked up and getting tested. We must stay with him, though. I worry something will happen if we leave him," he said, worried.
Doctor Lance nods. Everyone chats about Olin. Eventually, the testing finishes. Doctor Harrison attends to the machine.
He got the results, and it shocked him
"Fellas, this is a bit shocking; you may want to listen up," he said.
Everyone was immediately attentive.
"Olin is using too much magic. His immortal form is all ready for permanent transformation. If Olin stays as a baby, he'll possibly die. The stress levels of Olin's magic are way too high," Doctor Harrison said.
Everyone's eyes widen.
"What can we do?" Sakura asked
Doctor Harrison nodded. "You'll need to leave this up to Doctor Lance and me. Unfortunately, for your and Olin's safety, we must ask you to wait outside the testing room."
Sakura, Ren, and Olin's uncles nod,, and they wait outside. The group waits for an hour, which feels like a long hour.
When they heard the doors opening, they looked to see Doctor Lance, Doctor Harrison, and Olin, all grown up. In his immortal form at sixteen years of age, he is still a neko.
The group all blushed, which had the two doctors and Olin all chuckling a little. Olin was discharged from the hospital after a final check-up. He was eligible to be released.
The group heads back to the laboratory. Olin was a little nervous
"Are you nervous, Olin?" Aventurine asked
"Yes, I am. For one, I'm my immortal age due to my magic being extremely stressed out, and what will everyone say? I feel like this all happened under suspicious circumstances, not knowing what made me sick to start with," Olin said honestly.
Ren says softly, "I'm sure if we explained what the doctors discovered, everyone would believe it. Everyone was worried when you suddenly became sick, Olin."
Olin nods. The group returns to the laboratory and heads back to everyone else. When they entered the room, all eyes immediately went to Olin.
Seeing everyone looking at him made him nervous, but he regained himself and stood confidently.
The group approached everyone again.
"The doctors discovered Olin's magic was severely over-stressed. They said his immortal form was his last option. Otherwise, he would've died," Sakura explained.
Everyone exchanged looks, chatter bursting out from everyone. Olin saw Jake get up and approach him.
"I'll need a private moment with my eldest brother. Is that alright?" Olin asked, looking at Sakura and Ren
"Of course, Olin. You know where we are if problems occur," Ren nods.
Olin nods. He looked ahead of him, seeing Jake approach him. Olin and Jake head to another room in the laboratory and settle there.
"So, when you were sick earlier, it was magic at severely high stress levels," Jake spoke cautiously.
"Yes, and if I left it untreated, I would've died," Olin nods once.
Jake reached up and very gently touched one of Olin's neko ears. Olin felt it twitch against Jake's hand.
This had Jake grinning
"Are your ears and tail sensitive, Olin?" He asked
"A little, it depends," Olin nods
"Got it. I'll be gentle," Jake said carefully.
Olin nodded again. Jake gently stroked Olin's neko ears and gently scratched behind them.
This action made Olin purr; he enjoyed the contact. Jake gently pulled Olin closer, moving from scratching behind his ears to hugging him.
Olin pulled a soft look. He hugged Jake back, snuggling into the embrace. Jake smiled and held Olin close.
"We're all sorry, Olin," he apologises sincerely.
Olin smiles, the tears forming in his eyes. Knowing his family has changed, he is overwhelmed
"I-I accept your apology. I love you, my fathers, my other siblings and my uncles. What happened can be forgotten; I'm willing to take that step for the sake of all of us," Olin says softly.
Jake held Olin closer, burying his face into Olin's shoulder, tears forming in his eyes.
Olin and Jake eventually pull away from their hug, their eyes clear of tears. Very gently, Olin pulled Jake closer and kissed his cheek.
The two brothers look at each other.
"Is there anything else you want to discuss or do while we've got privacy?" Olin asked
"No. We better head back to the others. They'll be worried," Jake nods.
Olin nods and heads back to where everyone else is. Once they joined back in, Olin's ears suddenly started twitching severely.
"They're nearby; my senses are telling me they're near the laboratory," Olin warned.
Everyone immediately got into their groups. Olin was with family. His fathers and uncles. His siblings were in a group on their own.
Once everyone was settled into their groups, they headed off, everyone knowing the plan.
Being cautious, Olin and his group looked around, sensing the enemies were everywhere. They quickly hide, hearing Sphalerite and Citrine talking.
Olin ensured he wasn't in view, and his fathers and uncles ensured that Olin and themselves were hidden.
Arms snake around Olin and gently pull him close. Olin looked to see Sapphire.
Smiling, Olin kept close to Sapphire; he kept his hearing on the alert in case Sphalerite and Citrine's crew were around, too.
When there was no sign of any suspicious voices, Olin and his group immediately headed to the police station.
However, Olin was tripped by something invisible. He yelped and was caught just before he hit the ground.
Garnet had caught Olin. Carefully, Garnet put Olin back on his feet, but he immediately supported him when he heard Olin hiss in pain.
Olin's ankle looked sprained; it started to swell. Sphalerite, Citrine, and their crew surrounded Olin, his fathers, and his uncles.
"Oh. Olin. No longer a baby we see," Citrine said
"No. If I did stay as a baby, I would've died, and your mission to get me, for whatever reason, would've been an immediate mission failure," Olin sneers.
Sphalerite, Citrine, and their crew all exchange looks, then look back at Olin.
"Well, it looks like our work is done then. You seem trusting of your family again. We don't need to do anything else. We're done," Sphalerite said and left with his brother and crew.
Olin was a little shaken up. He looks at Garnet, who looked at his son
"Well, at least the troubles are gone. We better get you to the hospital; your ankle isn't looking good," he said.
Olin nods. Garnet carefully picks him up, and the group heads to the hospital. Olin's ankle throbs with pain, causing him to whine in pain.
The group picked up the pace. They get to the hospital and enter. Olin's neko ears were pressed against his head as Olin was in pain.
Doctor Lance approached and immediately saw Olin's swollen ankle
"Come through, fellas," he said.
The group follow Doctor Lance into one of the medical rooms. Doctor Lance shut the doors.
Garnet carefully placed Olin on one of the hospital beds. Doctor Lance uncovered Olin's ankle and inspected it.
"Oh dear, it's a sprain, alright, but whatever he tripped on was quite stiff, quite sturdy," he said, worried.
"It's not broken, is it, Doctor Lance?" Emerald asked
"I may have to give Olin an x-ray; I'm sure it's just a sprain, but something tells me something else is wrong there," Doctor Lance said.
Olin's fathers and uncles nod. Doctor Lance went and got a wheelchair for Olin and came back.
Very carefully, Sapphire and Garnet help Olin get off the hospital bed and onto the wheelchair.
"We'll be back soon, fellas. Stay here and chat among yourselves," Doctor Lance said and left, wheeling Olin to the X-ray chamber.
Amethyst was in a state of thinking. Emerald looked at him and gently nudged him.
"Everything alright, Amethyst?" He asked.
Amethyst looks at Emerald.
"They may have gone for now, but I have a feeling they may come back again," he said
"For what reason do you think?" Emerald asked
"If it's not for Olin, it could be for... maybe, change. To go back to where the way things were before," Amethyst replied.
He still seemed unsure. Emerald rubbed Amethyst's back to help him relax. After a while, Doctor Lance came back with Olin and Doctor Harrison.
Very carefully, the two Doctors got Olin back onto the hospital bed
"As I suspected, when I thought something was wrong, it was. Olin's ankle is broken. It seemed like a sprain due to the swelling, but his ankle bone was anything but okay when Doctor Harrison and I checked it out in the x-rays," Doctor Lance announced.
Olin's dads and uncles showed worry.
"This means he'll be vulnerable," Garnet said carefully
"Indeed, so if he's to go out on his own for whatever reason in public or any place, he must have some people with him," Doctor Harrison nods.
After Olin's ankle was adequately treated, he was given crutches that fit him. These would help him be comfortable and move forward with his broken ankle.
The group left after Olin was given the all-clear to be discharged. The group went at Olin's pace as Olin now has to be on crutches.
Olin's neko ears were pressed against his head, and his tail was curled in frustration.
"This is so uncomfortable," Olin mumbles.
"We know it'll be tough, Olin, but don't worry. If need be, if you get exhausted, we can carry you. See how you go with your crutches first. We better get back to the laboratory first," Sapphire nods.
Olin nods, too. It took the group a bit longer than the others to return, but they returned to the laboratory and entered.
When Olin, his fathers, and his uncles enter the main room where everyone is meeting, they gasp at the sight of Olin on crutches.
"What happened!?" Olivia asked, shocked
"I think Sphalerite and Citrine set traps in places. Olin tripped on something invisible yet incredibly sturdy, and he ended up with a broken ankle," Amethyst said.
Everyone burst out into worried chatter. Olin seemed tired. Carefully, Olin took a seat and rested his crutches against it. He was given a footseat to rest his ankle.
Everyone took seats as well.
"Well, Sphalerite and Citrine, along with their crew, are gone. I think they've got back to where they came from for good," Emerald said
"That's great news. But, um, are you guys going back too?" Ren asked
"If we should be back where we live to prevent conflict between everyone here, we can go back," Garnet nods.
Olin's ears press against his head. It was clear Olin wanted his family to stay; it seemed he was highly trusting of them again.
Sakura and Mason noticed this, and they immediately piped up
"I think Olin would love you guys to stay here. He seems to want to be with his family," Mason said.
Olin's neko ears perked up. He seemed somewhat embarrassed that he was seen appearing so glum.
He blushes, and his ears lower shyly as his family smile and looks at Olin
"If Olin wants us to stay, we will," Sapphire smiles.
Olin looks at his family and smiles. They smile back to Olin. The Southwell family and Olin were given a mansion to live in.
When all trouble was confirmed gone, everyone left the laboratory and went to do their own thing.
Olin and his family headed to their new mansion.
"We'll get our things and yours too, Olin. We'll get everything moved in. We'll check the house out first. But, for your safety and due to your ankle, we'll make sure you have a place to relax," Emerald smiles.
"Thanks Dad. I'd help, but my ankle," Olin sighs.
"No stress, Olin. Don't feel guilty. There's plenty of us. We can handle it," Zircon smiles.
Olin couldn't help but return the smile. The family get to the magnificent mansion and enters. It was amazing.
While Olin's siblings and fathers went to examine the mansion, Olin's uncles helped Olin get to the lounge room. It was fully furnished.
Very carefully, Olin got to the couch, sat down on it, and lay down, putting his crutcheson the floor.
Olin purrs softly, closing his eyes. He feels the comfort and softness of the couch wrapping around his body and keeping his ankle safe.
Peridot smiles and gently strokes Olin's hair before the uncles return for the front doors, waiting for Olin's siblings and fathers.
The others reunited, and headed back to their original home to get everything they would need to move into their mansion in Alnara.
Olin fell asleep. He slept peacefully and was not disturbed by his ankle at all. When Olin woke up a few hours later, he woke up to see his fathers around him.
"Hey there, sleepyhead. Did you have a nice sleep?" Emerald smiles
"It was pleasant, thank you," Olin nods.
Emerald gently pets Olin's neko ears, which causes him to relax and purr softly. He seems really enjoying Emerald's touch.
As the night came, Olin went to his main bedroom. He still struggled a little with the crutches, but he always had two of his parents with him to help him.
Olin was left alone to get ready for bed. After the significant events, he seemed exhausted.
Once ready for bed, Olin carefully got into bed and magically rested his crutches at the end of his king-sized canopy bed.
Yawning, Olin laid down after propping his pillows down. He got comfortable and pulled the silky yet thick covers over him. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
The rest of the family went to bed eventually, too.
But at three in the morning, Olin suddenly became restless. His ankle ached, annoying him endlessly. He sighs and looks outside, becoming lost in thought.
It wasn't until the doors quietly opened, and there was Jake. He entered, shut the doors, and very carefully, being mindful of Olin, lay down beside him. The two were quiet for a few minutes.
