Andrew
I sat in the van, waiting impatiently for this ride to be over. It's not that I don't like being around this bunch of people that I chose to surround myself with. But I just really want to get back to Jacob and make sure that he is safe at all times. Sure, I left a few of my men to watch over him for me, while I'm away but that doesn't settle down the nagging feeling I have that someone out there is on the hunt for him. Sure, initially that person was me. I admit, kidnapping the man, who I had feelings for a long time, is not the wisest of decisions. But it got me close to him to the point that he kisses my lips on his own accord, so who's complaining? definitely not me.
I touched my lips, imagining his soft, pink, and plump pair dancing with my own. It's unimaginable, the feeling and the tingle of him touching me, or being near me. It's all so euphoric, but it, unfortunately, comes to an end when my phone rings, disturbing the silence in the van. My heart stops and my blood runs cold at the sight of the name plastered across the screen. Forgetting to breathe for a solid minute, my breaths come back in pants, my hands shaking as I gripped the ringing phone.
Alpha
He's not a werewolf nor is he a dog but he's certainly powerful. Every guy in the streets knows of him, everyone wants to be a part of his clique but nobody truly wants to meet him. He has never been physically seen but photos circulate through the dark web of who this man is. Some say he's an extraterrestrial being that came to live on earth, who now is accustomed to the way humans live. Some believe he is indeed a werewolf and he eats people, who cross him, for supper. Nobody saw him, but anybody who speaks or acts against him disappears without a trace.
He's an unforeseen force that strikes terror into any man's spine.
I answered the call, not wanting to get on this man's bad side.
"Andrew speaking," I said trying and failing, to hide the fear that was evident in my voice.
"Andrew, Thank you for finishing the job, I was going to do it my self but your help is more than accepted," His voice was deep, it scared me and sent goosebumps all over my body. I didn't dare to speak anymore, or more like, I can't speak anymore. "For that, I owe you one, till next time." He ended the call after that and I sighed, feeling all the tension subside. Clarence looked over at me from the rearview mirror.
"Is something the matter boss?" He asked, bringing his eyes back to the road.
"Alpha just called," I said and he also tensed up, getting a faraway look in his eyes.
Mama! Mama!
The woman held her pointer finger to her lips, kissing the top of the boy's head, as she locked the door.
Be good okay Clare? Be good for mama. Promise me Clare? Cla-
-RENCE!!!" I swapped into the front seat, just as we were about to hit a deer, the man looked to have regained his consciousness, frantically stomping on the breaks. The van abruptly stopped, sending all of us jolting forwards, uncomfortably. "What happened? You almost got all of us killed!" I said and he got that glazed over look again like he wasn't even there. Sighing, I sat back in my seat, massaging the space on my nose between my eyes. "Nelson take the wheel from Clarence for me please," I said as Nelson pushed Clarence aside, who just walked out of the driver's side door and into the passenger side like he was high and gone.
When he sat down, he just stared out the window, no words, nothing. Just sitting there as silent as ever. Shaking my head, I turned my attention elsewhere, but my mind is still on the incident and what might've happened if I didn't step in. We arrived back in the city and the gang house, Clarence tried to excuse himself but I pulled him back, knowing something's wrong.
"Clarence, I need answers and I want them now, what happened to you back in the mountains?" I asked and Clarence settled down on a chair and sighed, I prepared myself for what he was about to reveal to me.
"You see-
Mama! MAMA! look I made this!
The little boy bounded up to his mother's legs hugging them as he showed her a messy drawing on a piece of paper.
Aw, that's beautiful Clare-baby, now why don't you sit down, Lunch is almost ready.
THUMP.THUMP.THUMP.
Loud thundering footsteps, came crashing outside the small apartment complex, shouting and gunshots were heard, people begging for their lives, crying and pleading to spare them.
A middle-aged man came out of the bedroom wielding a shotgun.
HIDE THE BOY!
He barricaded the door with all the furniture he can muster, as the woman dropped what she was doing to tend to the confused child. All the furniture was knocked down as the door was forced open, masked men came in with guns, the man firing at one but he was outnumbered. The last sight the boy got of his father, was him turning to smile as he was gunned down.
The boy choked back a sob, clinging to his dear mother for comfort.
He was placed in a small compartment underneath the bed, hidden by floorboards and a small door. It was a tiny spot only able to fit one person, in this case, one child.
Mama! Mama!
The woman held her pointer finger to her lips, kissing the top of the boy's head, as she locked the door and placed the planks back into their original spot. The space was cramped for the boy, metal, and cement digging into his side.
WHO ARE YOU, PEOPLE?!
Gunshots were soon heard afterward, the screaming of his mother long gone. He didn't know how long he waited in his position but a man took him out of his hiding spot, He can't remember how the man looked like, but he knew that he didn't trust the man at first. The boy looked around, dead bodies of masked men splayed across the bedroom floor amidst the mass, his mother laid there, lifeless. The boy cried and cried, the man hugging him to his chest.
Shhh, shh, Alpha is here to take care of you.
"So you're essentially, Alpha's son?" I asked after I processed what he just told me.
"Yes, and No, he got one of his men to take care of me, Good people." He sighed once again as if tired, "Left his care when I was 18, told me that if ever I'm needed, I should comply immediately. Just brought back bad memories is all," He said waving it away like it was nothing, but it wasn't nothing, not to me at least.
"Look, Clarence, I told you this before and I'm going to keep telling you. You can up and leave anytime you want, Take Kenny with you move somewhere nice. Settle down and start a family." I said all the hullaballoo of the normal life that is a faraway dream for someone like me.
"It's going to be difficult, I'm already part of this mess, might as well just live through with it," he said and this time, when he stood up to leave, I didn't stop him and just let him be as he walked out with his head hung low.
I got up, packed a few things, a got ready to head to Jacob's place. It's been so long. I drove as fast as I can, slowing down when I spot a traffic enforcer. I don't wanna get caught and then have to go to the station to explain myself, maybe get detained. I got to Jacob's house, quicker than I expected. It's the same old beautiful quaint house that I wish I could settle down in. The two of us, normal husbands with a son and a daughter. We'll have our own little golden retriever that'll die only when our children are like teens already. Sadly though, dreams are only dreams. My life is too much in the dumps to take it back and fix it. Too far gone.
I knocked on the wooden door a few times, growing impatient when he didn't answer the door, My men did say that he was at home. I knocked again, still no answer. I began frantically knocking, even trying to call his phone as I did so. Not wanting to break down his door, I looked around for another entrance, thankfully, there's a window that leads to his living room, the two set bars that usually keep thieves out were drawn back. Taking it as a sign, I broke the window and jumped into his carpeted living room floor.
Who are you? How'd you get in here?!
There were multiple dead bodies littered on the living room floor, they were big muscular men, guys that I could easily tell belonged to some gang. There were a pistol and empty ammo by the stairs and bloody knives all the way to the top.
Stop! I'm warning you!
Hearing the shower running, I went into a frenzied panic thinking of all the possibilities that could've happened to him. Please don't let it be a repeat of last time, please God no. I don't think I'll be able to take it.
I ran as fast as I could up the stairs and into his room.
NO! PLEASE LET ME GO!
The room was a complete mess, clothes strewn all over the place, a naked teen boy laid on the bed, his head bleeding but he sure as hell still breathing.
Stop please, I'm begging you.
More men were dead on the floor, they were all clothed, joining the pile of bodies, I spotted a few of my own men.
Please no more
the light under his bathroom door was turned off but the water ran continuously, meaning that he has to be in there. Barging in without a second thought, I saw him crying and sobbing in the corner, blood was everywhere, his own and that boy's, probably. There was so much, I felt like I was going to puke. I slowly walked over to where he was, careful not to slip on the mixture of water and blood that was on the floor.
"Please."
"Jacob, baby, It's me please look at me, tell me what happened," I said and he did look at me, but his eyes were puffy, scrunched into slits with tears pouring out in rivulets, His face pale and lips quivering, only then did I feel the intense cold of his shower. I turned it off completely before turning back to him. I sat on the floor and cradled his head to my chest. "Please tell me what happened, please," I said, as I took out my phone, seeing how badly I was shaking, taking a few times to call 911.
"911 what's your-"
"PLEASE HELP!!! MY BOYFRIEND'S INJURED!!! THERE'S DEAD PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!!! THERE'S SO MUCH BLOOD, OH GOD PLEASE HURRY!!!"
"Okay sir, please calm down, we're sending an ambulance right away," I was panicking so much that I completely forgot to tell them that multiple people were actually two people who were injured.
Jacob was still crying in my arms, clutching onto my sleeves as I rocked us both back and forth, I tried calming him down but none of it worked. He was a shaking mess, I don't even know what to tell him to help him calm down because I don't know what the hell went down. I felt tears on the edges of my eyes threatening to fall. I just want everything to be okay, for him to smile at me and welcome me back. I want him to be okay, not covered in bruises and blood. I want him to be okay. I want everything to be okay. I just want to be okay again.
Shut up, it'll be over soon.
