"Where have you been?" Aiden's mother, Renya asked. Renya was getting very tired of Aiden sneaking out at night and disappearing for hours before coming back. In fact she thought teenage rebellion was supposed to start later on to her Aiden was still too young to be rebelling.
Aiden stared at his mother, then ignored her turning to walk away. Renya's face heated in anger, "don't disrespect your mother like that turn around and answer my question." Aiden slowly turned his body to face his mother and winced when he saw the anger burning in her cheeks and eyes.
"I'm sorry mother I didn't mean to anger you I'm just tired." Aiden explained staring into his mother's deep red eyes. Aiden's thoughts turned to Snow as his mother started talking about how his father called earlier.
"Why aren't you answering your fathers calls or texts?" Renya asked. Aiden blinked slowly, "He has no time for me he has twins and a newborn to take care of." Renya sighed and pulled her short, straight hair in frustration.
"Anyway you have to go live with your father for a while money is running out and I need to work overseas for a while, but if you want I'll send you a key when you turn 16 if you want to move back in." Aiden blinked several times, processing what Renya had said, then shook his head.
"Wh-what do you mean? I have to go live with my father, why can't I stay here?" Aiden asked, hiding his desperation from his mother.
"I can't leave you here by yourself; you need people to be around." Renya said. Aiden relaxed slightly, "I have friends at school I'm around them almost everyday" Renya frowned and tilted her head, "what about breaks and summer vacation?"
"I'm sure there parents wouldn't mind if I slept over sometimes" Aiden answered. Renya seemed satisfied with Aiden's answer which made Aiden feel relieved.
"Ok, I guess that could work, but when I call you have to answer and you have to answer my texts" Renya said. Aiden nodded, then headed down the hall to his room.
