Diamond was walking around the forest area. Opal was busy with her flower shop. For now, Diamond wanted to get used to the surrounding area. She had heard a heavy drop into a pond nearby so she stepped around, peering where it came from.
She noticed two figures, one racing out of the pond water and the other running from her. She giggled to herself, watching them play out. That’s when she noticed a familiar face. Erien was tackled to the ground by the other, starting to get soaked as he erupted and shaking in laughter yelling to get off and to stop. Diamond was quiet, watching. Clutched to a tree she was behind seeing it.
Were the bird girl and him friends? Partners? What? And why so out in the open too?
Then the atmosphere turned sad. It was quiet between them, she could see the fear and sorrow forming on Erien’s face, the girl beside him listening and speaking but the words were muffled from the distance.
“I wonder what’s going on. Why did it drop so fast?” Diamond laid down, her Siamese form replacing her human figure and features as she scampered closer to listen. But they had ended the talk, and the girl was gone, flying back up into the trees leaving Erien alone.
Diamond sat in the brush watching him as he looked around, standing up and walked over to the edge of the pond, leaning and sighing. Her heart sank a bit. He looked lonely now.
As she stepped out, Duncan had jumped from above her, tackling his brother into the pond water. And the surface of the stillness being obscured. Coughs and growls, then a hard punch was through and maybe some potential drowning between the brothers. Diamond was left still and speechless. And feeling, irritated. She had wanted to be the one to go to him. Awake him up from the long stare he had at the deep water.
She turned away, scampering off back towards where her new home was. She would find Erien later. She would say hello, make conversation maybe. Maybe even visit the Carnation Pack once again, sing and dance with them.
“Maybe even see him get up on that table and belt out too.”
