A Week Later

          Melady and Queen have not seen each other since that incident. Melady was busy looking for a job. “ Finally I found a job for me! It’s not rich, it’s comfortable, not fancy, and full of kind people.” Melady said as she was putting on her job uniform. Melady on her first day to her job, she was nervous. She got to her job on time, she was trained and treated well. Now, on her first day she was a waiter. “Welcome to Cracker Barrel! How many?” Melady would say that to every customer that came in. In her break, “Whoa, I never thought this would be tiring. The money is still good… Oh I have 15 minutes left!” As Melady was clocking in to start working, in the corner of her eye she saw Queen. Wait! She is here! But why? This is not even a fancy place! Melady confused, tried to not be her waiter, but of course life had other plans.

                                                 Queen’s Morning

         Queen has not been able to sleep since the incident. In the bright morning, Queen said with a tiring voice, “Why can’t I sleep?” Queen hasn’t stop thinking of Melady and the day of the murder. As Queen does her usual morning routine, she thinks of ways to talk to Melady again. Since the incident, Queen has been trying to talk to Melady but every time she does, Melady rans off. “Should I try again? Or should I rest today?... But I want to see her again.” Queen couldn’t understand why she was desperate to see Melady. It made her feel lost and confused. I guess I’ll go and rest today. Or Maybe I should go out and eat at my favorite place. Queen decided to go out, she got her keys and left.

                                                     Present

          Melady confused, tried to not be her waiter, but of course life had other plans. “Oh go serve our loyal customer, she is amazing,” said Melady’s boss as she was tiptoeing away from that situation. Are you serious… “Of course! I would lovee to serve our loyal customer” Melady said with a bright smile but a sarcastic tone. “Okay, good. I think she would be a good practice for a newbie like you.” As the boss walks away, Melody’s smile’s fading. Dammit. I just want to have a peaceful day! Melady slowly walks towards Queen, regretting coming to work. Melady went up to Queen and said,“...Hello.. Just one” looking away from Queen, not wanting to have eye contact with her. Queen immediately looked up, surprised but happy. All her doubts and worries faded away instantly. “Oh yeah, just one. T-thank you” Queen blush in embarrassment, Oh my, did I fix my face? Do I look okay? Are my eyes still swollen?... Queen kept on. Melady, not looking at Queen’s face,said, “ Okay… Come this way” and lead the way. Queen followed her, still questioning if she looked okay.
