I always dread coming in here. I’m part of the Monsters’ Veterinarian department. Our job is more or less simple. We deal with the freaks that work like animals. I don’t know. They work differently. However, if there’s one thing I dread, it’s this one. The higher ups around here call him “Husk”. He looks simple on the surface. He’s an adult, male Alaskan Husky. He’s got a beautiful coat of fur. I’ll give him that. Part of me would even go as far as to say that I would consider keeping this thing as a pet, but I know the truth.

This dog is straight up evil. What’s the point in even trying to capture him? He’s just gonna escape again. He always does. They don’t exactly know where Husk came from. The organization first got word of him after he was seen roaming the outskirts of an abandoned church in Wisconsin. He later showed up stalking the outside of a gated cult community in Texas.

Not much is known about Husk, but they believe he has some sort of demonic origins. Guards say they hear demonic whispers in the late hours of the night. Husk constantly vanishes from his cell. Then, the organization has to recapture him. I guess he’s just another one of those cases of a monster that the hunters truly can’t understand. Some think Husk is some sort of entity masquerading as a dog. I somewhat believe that theory. I personally think that Husk is a hellhound. Some way or another, he found his way out of Hell and ended up here.

There used to be this show I would catch my kid watching late at night on Adult Swim, called Mr. Pickles. It was about this devil worshipping dog that would constantly kill people. It was some super violent shit. I forbid him from ever watching it again. Looking back on it now, maybe that was a warning of what I would face. Maybe Husk is truly a real life Mr. Pickles. Maybe Mr. Pickles was inspired by Husk. I’ll never truly know.

Husk constantly tries to attack people. A team of hunters even told me that even as they were firing rounds into him, he just wouldn’t drop. Thomas is busy cleaning up Husk’s feces and shedded fur off the floor. I had to secure the electrical leash around Husk’s neck to insure he doesn’t try to attack us. It’s strange though. Usually, he’d put up one hell of a fight, but this time, he’s calm...too calm. He’s just sitting there, staring at me with this peculiar look on his face. It almost looks like he’s smiling at me, but his eyes scream malice and murderous intent. I’m not taking my eyes off this bastard. No. Not for a damn second.

Thomas is almost done. In a few more minutes, we can be out of he-...

WHAT?!?!?! HOW?!?!?! I just-... Thomas. He’s dead. There’s a huge chunk of flesh out of his throat. I swear I didn’t take my eyes off him for a second. Husk is still sitting there, but there’s blood all over his mouth. He’s snarling. It almost looks like a smile. What the hell is the point of this? What is the point of any of this? These bastards...this organization constantly puts us in situations they know could get us killed. I’m not a hunter. I’m a veterinarian for god’s sake. I joined this organization because I thought I could make a difference and help people, but this isn’t fucking worth it.

This dog isn’t some extraterrestrial or some otherworldly god. It nothing but pure fucking evil. It wants nothing more than to watch the human race burn. What could I do? I could call one the hunters in here and have them put this bastard down. No. That wouldn’t work.

I just woke up in the cell. I think I must’ve passed out or hit my head. I don’t remember. A guard came by a saw me incapacitated. He took me to the infirmary. They reported that Husk was gone when they got there. There was no sign of Thomas either. Damnit. That bastard is gone, but they’ll catch him again. They always do. I pray for whoever has to cross paths with that evil being. I think I’ll take a few weeks off to clear my head.

Hopefully, catch him before it's too late.
